Janoris Jenkins: Polarizing Corner Rattles off Repertoire of Kids Names

Richard LangfordFeb 26, 2012

Janoris Jenkins passed his first test at the NFL combine. He remembered all of his kids names. Well, maybe he did.

That is a hard thing to prove. At least there isn't anything to refute that he recalled them inaccurately.

And really, who could make these names up? CBS Sports' Will Brinson relayed Jenkins' kids names:

Janoris tells media he has four kids. Janoris Jenkins Jr, Legend, Janorian and Paris

I guess when your name is Janoris, you don't name your kids Steve or Allan. You have to go with something unique.

So Janoris went for a Jr., two nouns and a made up word that sounds like the name of things from another planet that may someday attack the world.

Hopefully these kids get a healthy dose of their dad's confidence because they are going to get their share of teasing. And with a little confidence, they can turn this into a great conversation starter:

"I am Legend...Jenkins. Nice to meet you."

I applaud Janoris for going for the unique. There are far too many common names out there, but that is what makes the last name puzzling.

Paris?

Why go with Paris? That name has been destroyed already. There are plenty of other towns in France that haven't been sullied by a connection to a talentless starlet.

Maybe he has just never become aware of the other Paris. And if that is the case, I whole-heartedly applaud you, Mr. Jenkins.
