Where to Find the Best NHL Trade Deadline Coverage
February 26, 2012
Well, there will be plenty of action at the NHL trade deadline come Monday and it is very important that fans know where to find the information. The best place for up-to-date action will be the NHL Network and each year they have been the go-to place for trade information. Coverage on the NHL Network starts at 8a.m. and roll on till 5p.m.
Most of their coverage is provided by Canada's outstanding team at TSN.
The TSN gang are to the NHL trade deadline as the MLB Network is to the baseball trade deadline, always on top of what is going on and offering outstanding analysis.
Can't be near the TV? Well then you need to use NHL.com. They have an easy-to-use site that is quick to update any trade. Also, most of the team sites will have coverage so you may try them out as well for updated information.
If you subscribe to Sirius-XM Radio Home Ice, they will keep you posted and again their coverage is very comprehensive and will start at 7a.m.
Lastly, most local sports talk radio in the United States are really a bit slow on NHL coverage in general and can be quite bad when it comes to trade deadline coverage. Let me suggest TSN 990AM in Montreal. Their online coverage has been outstanding for the past three years. You can listen to them on your computer at work and they will make sure that all areas on the league are covered—not just Montreal. They begin coverage with The Morning Show at 6a.m. with Elliott Price and Shaun Starr getting things started. TSN 990am will continue all day long till 6p.m.with complete coverage.
All times listed are eastern.
So there you go: a quick guide on keeping up with the NHL trade deadline coverage.
