Terrell Owens Hoping to Be Noticed by NFL as He Scores Three TDs in Return

Michael NargiJun 7, 2018

Terrell Owens is back. Kind of.

The former NFL star receiver made his debut for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League on Saturday night.

T.O. made three catches for 53 yards in his return, all three of which went for touchdowns.

It is a bit surprising to see Owens in the IFL considering his historic numbers.

Owens is second in NFL history with 15,934 receiving yards and is tied for second in receiving touchdowns with 153.

Will he build upon these numbers? Will his IFL experiment going to be worth it?

I think it is possible.

The league is quickly changing to a passing dominant league. Although there are an abundance of young talents out there, it is always possible that sometime next season a team is ravaged by injuries. This is Owens' best shot to get back to playing on Sundays.

A team with a young quarterback and a depleted receiving core might be a perfect fit for Owens.

Even though not one NFL team showed up to his workout last season.

If he can have a productive stint in the IFL and show that he still has life left in his 38-year-old legs, then he might have a shot of making it back to playing on Sundays.

Before tearing his ACL in the 2010 season, Owens compiled great numbers to lead the Cincinnati Bengals, that would hold up even in his absence. He finished the season on the IR, but not before making 72 catches for 983 yards and scoring nine touchdowns.
