UFC 144: Rampage Jackson Will Turn Victory over Ryan Bader into a Title Shot
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson is going to destroy Ryan "Darth" Bader in their UFC 144 bout, and quickly turn that success into a title shot.
The former light heavyweight champ, Jackson, just had a shot at the belt, and lost to Jon Jones. However, if he can bounce back strong, he will not be far from a rematch.
Rampage is an exciting fighter who is a fan favorite. He will get another shot if he can prove he is close to worthy, though that window is certainly coming to a close.
Jackson is 33 and can't afford many more losses if he wants to get back on top.
This fight will not be a loss. Jackson has the game to easily handle Bader.
Why Jackson Will Win Easily
Jackson is too well-rounded for Bader. If they stay are on their feet he has a striking advantage. If it goes to the mat he has a wrestling advantage.
Bader's only real shot is to land a KO blow. He has the punching power to lay him out, but it will be about getting the opportunity to land it.
Jackson is a straight-ahead fighter, but he uses his feet well. Bader will try to stay on the move and step to the side to get the angle on him.
Jackson is too savvy to let that happen, eliminating any chance of a Bader victory.
What's Next for Jackson
Rampage is probably one more fight away, after this one, to get another shot at the belt. Jon Jones appears to be in a class of his own right now in the light heavyweight ranks, and there isn't going to be a more compelling matchup than Jackson.
Rampage extended Jones four rounds in that fight, and that is a better hope than anyone else in the weight would appear to have.
If Jackson can look strong and in shape in Japan, and continue that into his next fight, he can expect a title shot to follow.
