Now Let's Imagine Matt Cassel As a Viking
Okay, so I'm not the first one to say this and I'm sure not going to be the last. Matt Cassel is a high priority for the Minnesota Vikings. Honestly, it's not an understatement when people say the Vikings are a talented quarterback away from the super bowl.
It gets to be such a drag when you go through yet another season with a decent at best quarterback.
Adrian Peterson if he can hold on to the ball is the best running back in the league. We have a good offensive line that will get better next year. Bernard Berrian is a deep threat target.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Visanthe Shiancoe is finally coming into his own as the player we thought he would be. You take that with a very good defense and you have a good team. So you're thinking "Hey, you didn't mention a quarterbacks name in there anywhere!" Exactly.
For those of you who still have faith in Tarvaris Jackson and think he will be a good quarterback next year if we give him another chance you're a buffoon.
Seriously, who are you fooling? It's good to have faith in your team but it gets frustrating when you could make a good team great with one single roster move. Trust me, I'm a Vikings fan, I love them like a girlfriend minus the cuddling.
Enter Matt Cassel a back-up turned starter this past season after what's his name went down-- oh yeah, Tom Brady. Matt went from a no name to a near pro-bowler.
Matt Cassel's 2008 stats:
327-516, 3693 yards, 63.4 comp pct, 21 td, 11 int, 89.4 rating
Tarvaris Jackson and Gus Frerotte's combined 2008 stats:
265-450, 3213 yards, 59.1 comp pct, 21 td, 17 int, 84.5 rating
Equal in touchdowns which surprised me but everything else is not comparable. If that doesn't get your attention I don't know what will. I don't mind Tarvaris as the back-up but nothing more than that.
Matt Cassel is a free agent likely to be franchised by the Patriots when they're able to. They won't have two of the top five highest paid quarterbacks on their roster. It's just that simple.
Minnesota would likely have to give up a first to get Matt which is completely fine with me. We gave up a first and a third for Jared Allen and people thought that was dumb. How did that turn out for the Vikings? Oh, 14.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.
Matt Cassel is 6"4 230 lbs and many people don't know that he's only 26 years old. I have a strong sense that Minnesota will do what they can to bring him in.
Minnesota Viking fans will rejoice in celebration the day we realize that the quarterback position finally has promise.
