Jack Swagger: The Future of WWE

While we are seeing a bunch of new superstars coming in, particularly in ECW, I think the future of the WWE is in The All-American American Jack Swagger. He looks like he has been wrestling for a while in the WWE when you see him.

Everytime you watch Swagger you see an amateur background, while seeing other things in him.

Certain wrestlers who have had an amateur background have done well in pro-wrestling; Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas, and Kurt Angle to name just a few. I feel Swagger could be the next in line. The one thing I like about him is his power. Usually you see agility out of amateur style wrestlers for sure, but not as much power.

He earned my respect when he gutwrench powerbombed Tommy Dreamer. He did it without a sweat or any strain. And Dreamer is upwards of 200 lbs. Sure you could do it to smaller guys, but doing it to guys like Dreamer the same way?

That, to me, takes skill. And it seems that you are always seeing something new out of him every week. Of course if you are an avid ECW watcher, like myself, you'd know he is currently on an undefeated streak in the WWE.

He will be getting an ECW Championship shot next week on ECW. And either he will win the ECW Title or lose and have his undefeated streak snapped. As much as I like Matt Hardy as ECW Champion, I want to see a new Champion next week.

Hardy held it well, and did a commendable job of course. But Swagger is a future multi-time World Champion. I feel a Matt Hardy/Jack Swagger feud is a good idea for 2009.

It is better than seeing "Mr. Boring" Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy all the time. Just Saying. I know Swagger gets over looked sometimes, with all the new superstars coming in to the WWE.

But to me he has out shone all who have come in this year, including Evan Bourne. Although Bourne is good, I don't feel he will win any World Titles. If he does it will not be anything outside of ECW.

Swagger's finisher has taken out Hardy before, so he does have that over him. They have never been in a match before, which is not good for either. But since Swagger is the guy who keeps getting better, you have to go with him.

He does a few moves one week and new ones the next. We have seen what Hardy can do and what he does in the ring. Not so with Swagger. He can hang with anyone's style too.

He will ground the highflyer, and cripple the ground and pound. Which is something not everyone can say. As far as I can see, there are no flaws in his game.

The one thing you may have against him is that he is too confident. And superstars who do that particularly lose the big matches they are too confident in. Just look at Alabama losing to Utah for example.

It happens all the time, so Swagger could go out and lose. But he should do well, and take out Matt Hardy. I feel Hardy has some work to do. But if Swagger comes out hot on Hardy, we could be seeing a new ECW Champ next week.

The future is now for Swagger. If he were to win, he would be for sure the next big thing. And the last time we heard that reference we had a three time WWE Champion on our hands, and one of the most destructive superstars of all time.

I guess we will just have to see, what do you think?
