The Maple Leafs have easily played their worst hockey of the season over the last eight games. The team has dropped seven of the eight.
During the major slump, the Leafs have scored two goals or less on five occasions. One of the better teams in hockey, when it comes to putting the puck in the net, has struggled mightily to say the least.
Now at 29-25-7 and dropping to No. 10 in the East, there is plenty of concern for Toronto going forward.
Adding a player like Dustin Brown to the squad would undoubtedly have the Maple Leafs creeping right back into the playoff picture.
In 61 games played, the stud right wing has 14 goals and 17 assists on the year. Brown is a tough, especially skilled talent that would give the Maple Leafs their attacking firepower back, as well as a leader that would give this team a sense of added confidence.
Moving forward, if the Maple Leafs are able to acquire Brown in the trade market, there is no question that the losing streak will immediately be put to rest. This is a talent that would exponentially help this team's chances this season.
