Liverpool vs. Cardiff City: Carling Cup Victory Will Lead Reds to New Heights

Liverpool will waltz to a Carling Cup Championship and give their squad a hunger for greatness that will fuel the Reds to climb back to the upper ranks of the EPL. And that is something they desperately need. 

Liverpool has struggled mightily this year. They are currently in seventh place in the EPL, and they are closer in points to the bottom of the standings than they are the top. 

This is a young squad, and most of the players have not won anything as a Red. It has been six long years since the Reds have won any silverware. That is about to come to an end. 

Why the Reds Will Cruise

Liverpool has put together a tremendous run to this finals. They have take down Exeter City, Brighton and Hove Albion, Stoke City, Chelsea and then had their most impressive win by defeating Manchester City in the semifinals. 

The young Reds will be flying high with confidence and a sense of destiny. Cardiff enters this game after splitting with Crystal Palace in the semifinals. That is not exactly the same confidence booster as taking down Man City. 

Luis Suarez and Craig Bellamy will keep the pressure on Cardiff, and they will overwhelm Cardiff's suspect back line. 

What This Win Will Mean for Liverpool

Confidence will be soaring for Liverpool. They will know exactly what they are capable of, and it will be difficult for them to settle for anything less. 

This will give every player on the Reds a mental edge. This team still has 12 EPL matches left, and they are only seven points away from fourth place.

With a winning streak, they could make a a quick run up the EPL table, and all of a sudden, what was once a disappointing campaign will suddenly look like a promising one.
