Jeremy Lin Video: Watch Jimmy Fallon's Pearl Jam Tribute to Linsanity
If you're a fan of great 1990s music than you probably love the song "Jeremy" by the band Pearl Jam. This week on his late night show on NBC, Jimmy Fallon sung his own version of Pearl Jam's famous song and added a Jeremy Lin twist to it.
Lin has taken the NBA by storm over the past few weeks with his spectacular performances for the New York Knicks.
The best part about this video is that Fallon actually sounds pretty similar to the band. I mean, if you were just listening to the song and didn't know that Fallon was signing, then you might have thought that Pearl Jam was actually performing this.
The lyrics were well written and full of funny lines. Below are the opening lyrics to the song, courtesy of channelpa.com:
"At home, shooting free throws
and three point shots,
Waiting for a job, name not yet a pun
Carmelo injury,
came out of nowhere like an Asian Tebow
The Knicks were 8-15,
oh and before that no one really cared
Now Jeremy is winning
and the Knicks don’t suckJeremy Linsanity, Jeremy Linsanity
"
It was only a matter of time before someone made a version of this song focusing on Lin, and it's nice to see it done very well. Fallon did a fantastic job and the lyrics really worked with the original music of Pearl Jam's hit song.
Fallon also did a song about Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow during the NFL season, which was also quite funny. This song was just another example of Fallon's great late-night comedy on NBC.
