Bleacher Creature On Location: The BCS Title Game

5:05 am (CST) I rolled out of bed and hit the shower. Since I packed last night there wasn't much to do. I had a relatively good night's sleep and I'm ready to roll.

5:45 am (CST) My buddy Scott (one of my partners in crime and beneficiary of the other ticket) showed up at my house before dawn to ferry us to the Baton Rouge airport.

7:29 (CST) Plane leaves BTR headed for a connection in Atlanta.

10:32 (EST) We lose an hour with the time zone switch. A lady wearing an LSU cap sees my shirt and offers a "Geaux Tigers" in the ATL airport. Gotta love it!

1:23 (EST) Plane arrives in Lauderdale and we wait for our luggage and pick up our rental car headed to Miami about an hour later.

3:09 (EST) We head to our hotel in South Beach. Though I'd been to the Miami area twice this is my first foray into South Beach. I'm pretty sure it's a law for women to show at least 45% of their chests in every outfit they wear down here.

3:39 (EST) Scott and I walk up and down Ocean Dr. The crowd seems split pretty well right now between Sooners and Gators at least in this area. I know better though. Gators will soon be the majority tomorrow.

4:28 (EST) Miami is home to the hottest mannequins I've ever seen. I've never seen a mannequin with double D's. Apparently it's par for the course here. My message for the rest of the retail world is take a cue from the merchants in South Beach, men would shop more.

4:31 (EST) We need to eat. No food yet today unless you count airplane peanuts.

4:49 (EST) We chat with some Sooner fans at the table next to us. They ask us a question that would be repeated by many other Sooners in the following hours.

"Do y'all actually like Les Miles?"

Funny.

I get it, you hate him. He beat you two out of four times with highly inferior talent. I reassure Scott that OU fans hating Miles is a good thing by saying, "There's a reason LSU fans don't hate Sylvester Croom."

5:45 (EST) We cruise back down Ocean towards our hotel and Scott (who is visiting Miami for the first time) says, "I could live here."

I think it has to do with the scenery.

Seriously, people here are hot. I couldn't live here before dropping about 40 pounds at least.

5:59 (EST) We're greeted exceptionally well in our LSU garb for some reason. At one point for about two blocks we joined forces with a group of guys all wearing shirts from schools not represented at the game here. In our group were guys from Cal, Texas, Nevada, USF, and Arkansas. I know, eclectic eh?

6:09 (EST) We're back at our hotel bar. At this point, Scott wants to play the "when in Rome" card and get a fruity drink at our hotel bar. With a few beers already in the happy chamber from dinner I oblige and take Lisa Horne's advice and order a Mojito.

It was off the chain.

But Mojito's are like Woodchuck Cider, the first one is good but the second doesn't go down as easy, time to switch to something else.

6:40 (EST) Well since I'm about to head to some tailgate party I'd figure I'd come and say hi to my B/R brethren before it gets too late and I have trouble putting sentences together. We'll be shown around by a couple of Miami locals tonight one who happens to be an FSU fan and the other a USC fan. That'll add to the fun.

The vibe here is great and its been very friendly so far. I feel like both sides feel they are about to witness something epic tomorrow. I hope they're right.
