Manchester United Transfer Rumors: 6 Strikers Linked to Reds
Even though Manchester United are only two points off the top of the league, the rumor mill never stops, and the Red Devils have been linked to a number of strikers recently.
Despite the fact that United have Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck up front, there's always room for improvement, and Sir Alex Ferguson can purchase any number of players to improve his strikeforce.
Here are six possible moves that Fergie's side can make during the summer.
Milos Krasic
1 of 6Milos Krasic may technically be a winger, but he can certainly provide a boost to the United attack.
Many clubs have been linked with the 27-year-old Serb, who currently plies his trade for Juventus. He seems destined to leave in the Summer.
Manchester United have reportedly shown interest in Krasic, and he would add depth to the Red Devils' attack and provide a dynamic option off the bench.
In the prime of his career, this would not be an atypical Ferguson signing.
Luciano Narsingh
2 of 6You may have never heard of Luciano Narsingh, but he is a Dutch footballer who currently plays for Heerenveen of the Eredivisie and has expressed his strong desire to sign for Manchester United.
Speaking to soccernews.nl, the player said:
"Look, if Manchester United call, I would immediately get on the plane. I am a footballer who wants to aim higher.
"
At least Sir Alex Ferguson would know that the player would be receptive to a move.
James Rodriguez
3 of 6Young FC Porto starlet James Rodriguez has greatly impressed for the Portuguese side of late and has therefore been anointed the "South American Cristiano Ronaldo."
The Colombian Rodriguez is deployed both in a wide role and more centrally, and his versatility would thus make him a valuable asset for United.
The Red Devils may have to fend off competition from their crosstown rivals, however, as Manchester City are currently getting a good look at the youngster in the Europa League.
Alan Pulido
4 of 6Rumors are suggesting that Sir Alex Ferguson is eyeing "New Chicharito" Alan Pulido of Mexican side Tigres.
He was a star for Mexico at the last U-20 World Cup and is tipped to be a star player for the senior side in Brazil.
The original Mexican striking sensation, Javier Hernandez, has apparently talked to his manager about his compatriot, and Pulido can apparently be brought to England for around £4 million.
Andre-Pierre Gignac
5 of 6Andre-Pierre Gignac has not lived up to his potential since arriving at Marseille last summer, and has stated that he would love to play at a club of the stature of Manchester United.
While he has not been stellar in France, he could certainly provide an impact for United when needed, and his sub-par season would drive his transfer fee down to an affordable level.
If there was ever a time when Gignac would turn his career around, it would be now, at the age of 26 and in the prime of his career.
Cristiano Ronaldo
6 of 6This rumor may just be too fantastic to be true, but let us nevertheless indulge ourselves.
We all know what a saga Ronaldo's transfer to Madrid was, and now, the Portuguese superstar has said that he misses playing for United and has refused to rule out a future move back to England.
Of course, no player would give the Red Devils a bigger boost during the summer, and the acquisition of Ronaldo would make them almost unstoppable.
But, of course, many things that sound too good to be true, are, in fact, just that.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ronaldo moved back to the club that made him famous much later in his career, but expecting him to do so this summer is nothing short of pure delusion.
