NBA Celebrity All Star Game 2012: Funny Moments, Twitter Reaction and Highlights

Ryan RudnanskyFeb 24, 2012

You hoped that the East and West All-Star Celebrity teams on Friday would be equal in mediocrity, making for a close matchup.

But it didn't take long for the East to exert its dominance, going on an offensive barrage with 48 points in the first half alone and winning, 86-54.

The MVP turned out to be actor and comedian Kevin Hart, who registered eight points, six assists and about 10 jokes.

I guess you could say Dwight Howard was a marvelous coach, and that Kevin Durant should just stick to being a player.

And seriously Run TMC? You're going to let them blow you out like that? Seeing Chris Mullin, Mitch Richmond and Tim Hardaway get schooled was hard to grasp.

Highlights

The East used some great ball movement to build their lead on Friday, complete with the star of the show, Kevin Hart:

Funny Moments

Before the game, host Stuart Scott told East coach Dwight Howard that Kevin Hart said he'd get 40 and 10. Howard quipped, "Yeah, 10 turnovers in 40 minutes."

Hart served as the Muggsy Bogues of the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. He also got into it with Chris Mullin at one point and could be seen pumping himself up numerous times throughout the game. The finishing touch was Hart getting kicked out of the game for arguing a call and throwing his shoes into the crowd.

It was also funny to see ESPN's Doug Gottlieb execute a full-court press on his opponents from the start like he was in a hardcore pickup game.

Pretty cool seeing RUN-T.M.C. in this #NBA Celebrity game. Richmond, Mullin & Hardaway used to ball for the Warriors back in the early 90's.
