USA vs. Italy: Preview, Live Stream, Start Time and More

The United States and Italy will play an international friendly on Wednesday as Jurgen Klinsmann's American squad looks to earn a confidence boosting win against a world footballing power.

Since Klinnsman replaced Bob Bradley as manager of Team USA last summer, the squad has struggled on the attack. They have scored just five goals in their last four matches, including a pair of 1-0 defeats to Ecuador and France.

For the Italians, this will be a solid test for them ahead of Euro 2012 in the summer. Italy had a poor World Cup performance in 2010 and is looking to bounce back strongly at the Euros. Italy doesn't play again until June, so it's important they play well against the Americans on Wednesday.

Most Important player to watch: Clint Dempsey

Clint Dempsey has been named to the American squad for the international friendly against Italy and hopefully he can add some goal-scoring to the struggling attack.

Dempsey might also play with fellow Premier League star Landon Donovan, which means the two best American players could feature together on the pitch for the first time in Klinsmann's tenure.

Dempsey is a fantastic midfielder and not only is a playmaker, he scores goals as well. He will certainly be the most exciting American player against the Italians on Wednesday.

Key Matchup: American forwards vs. Italian center-backs

The American forwards must make sure they time their runs very well because the Italians are exceptional defenders and not beaten easily. They are very compact at the back and tackle quite well.

American forwards such as Jozy Altidore, Edson Buddle, Dempsey and Donovan must make sure their passes are precise, remain active in front of goal, and exploit whatever few opportunities they may see from the Azzurri.

The Italian squad for this match has not been announced yet, but I cannot see them rolling out their starting XI for this match when there are more important matchups against Russia and Spain coming up in June. 

The American attack will be boosted by Dempsey and Donovan's return to the team, who will both shine in an upset win for Team USA.
