Ranking the NBA's Best All-Star Game Jerseys in History

Gabe ZaldivarJun 7, 2018

The NBA All-Star Game is an exhibition where substance is thrown out the door, and what's left is a bunch of superstars trying to look good. Here is when they've looked the best.

I hope you are ready for a weekend of alley-oops and horrible defense because we are about to get a ton of that stuff.

The best in the NBA suit up to show us their mad skills, and the old adage is turned on its head. It's better to play well than look good. Pshhh. Not this weekend.

This weekend is all about swagger.

That means there will be loads of the stuff off the court and on it. Stars will be dressed in the finest of threads at all the festivities and will be making their on-court appearances in some sick-looking uniforms.

And this is what brings us to the following list. How do the current uniforms these teams will wear compare to the best in history?

There were some loud jerseys that worked, and others that were eyesores from the moment they were introduced.

Here is a collection of the jerseys that we wish would make a comeback at any cost. Every season is a flip of the coin as to whether the All-Star Game will be something you watch with wide-open eyes, or between your fingers as you try to look away.

Here are the unis that have dominated at various NBA All-Star games over the years.

5. 2008 NBA All-Star Jerseys

I feel like I may have lost some of you here. Disregard the McGrady on the back of the jersey, and consider that the NBA stepped just out of the box for their effort in New Orleans.

These are some dope jerseys.

I like that the All-Star Game gets a little glitz every once in a while. I think we can all agree that it gets boring to see red and blue each and every year as well.

These were glamorous without being obnoxious.

4. 2012 NBA All-Star Jerseys

This season's joints are just what we need in an All-Star jersey. It doesn't have to be revolutionary or in any way bucking past trends.

Orlando gets some classic uniforms that clearly show the demarcation between the conferences and scream All-Star classic.

Nothing too phenomenal, but classic nonetheless.

3. 1996 NBA All-Star Jerseys

The '90s were an awesome time to grow up. Everything was just more vibrant and colorful, including the All-Star uniforms.

Here's the thing; these are the most polarizing uniforms on the list, but they are the most memorable.

Watching this game being played was like taking in a cartoon, and that is how I like my midseason classics to be presented.

2. 2011 NBA All-Star Jerseys

I know, we are a little heavy on the recent iterations of All-Star jerseys, but we just do "cool" so much better nowadays.

The '90s were a mess, with uniforms that were far more wrong than right. Yes, I am talking about these here

I'm a sucker for the design on the back. It may not be something that you notice right away, but it's a subtle touch that makes these some of the best to have ever hit the court.

1. 2010 NBA All-Star Jerseys

I still love these uniforms from 2010 for their simple and muted look. We have had some silly jerseys take the floor in the past, and these are the coolest.

I still say they are the best because they make the player the star and take nothing away.

Consider some of the jerseys we have had in the past. I might like the teal uniform that was in our face, but it was far too loud to be the best.

Now you can see these are the exact opposite of that effort, but in a great way.
