Terrell Owens Will Make Embarrassing IFL Debut Saturday Night

Wes ODonnellJun 6, 2018

And you thought the only football coverage you'd get on Saturday was offensive linemen and tight ends running 40-yard dashes, sliding their feet in drills and showing off freakish athleticism. Ha.

While the NFL Network, or if you don't have it NFL.com, will dominate the day with Scouting Combine coverage, it is ESPN3 that takes the cake for football on Saturday.

Terrell Owens, a future Pro Football Hall of Famer, will make his debut in the IFL in Allen, Texas.

The worldwide leader will bring you live coverage on ESPN3. Only select providers offer ESPN's third channel, but a select few people care that Owens is playing at all.

The former 49er, Eagle, Cowboy, Bills and Bengal receiver is in a bit of pinch financially due to multiple paternity suits and reports indicate that the Wranglers offered him somewhere close to $500,000. He also has an ownership stake in the franchise.

There are 16 teams in the IFL in a number of states.

Saturday night's showdown for Owens and the Wranglers will be against Wichita.

Although this is somewhat of an embarrassing time for Owens, it could very well be what he needs.

He wasn't legitimately healthy during his public workout earlier this fall and it is no wonder that NFL teams avoided him. If he can show that his knee is 100 percent and that he can still move with NFL-like speed, he could find his way into training camp come July.

When healthy, Owens is one of the most physically gifted people on this earth. If he can get some of that back it certainly wouldn't be shocking to see him in an NFL uniform again.
