2012 NFL Draft Order: Dolphins and Chiefs Win Tiebreaker Coin Flips
One of the great mysteries of the 2012 NFL draft has been settled. The Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs have won the tiebreaker coin flips for the rights to the No. 8 and 11 overall picks this April, according to Todd McShay of ESPN.

As a result of this tiebreaker, the Carolina Panthers will hold the No. 9 pick and the Seattle Seahawks will make the 12th selection.
What It Means?
This was the best possible outcome for the Miami Dolphins. They could be looking to acquire a quarterback, either in the draft or free agency, and by picking eighth instead of ninth they can build a more appealing trade package if they choose to do so.
The Chiefs are not looking to do anything drastic with their pick—nothing that has been reported, at least. Instead, they will get a more concrete idea of who will be waiting for them with the 11th pick.
Most importantly, the final draft order has been set. We can put all 32 picks in an official order after months of speculation.
What Happens Next?
The NFL Scouting Combine takes place this weekend. Teams will be able to put players in order on their draft boards and determine whether or not they will be available to them when they are picking.
The Dolphins, Panthers, Chiefs and Seahawks don't have to worry about backup plans if they didn't get the pick they were expecting. They can have their coaches and evaluators focus on which players will be the best fits for their teams when they are making their picks.
