Projecting 50 Players from the 2012 NFL Draft Most Likely to Make a Pro Bowl

Tony SantorsaJun 7, 2018

When the NFL draft season comes around, it's like we always deem that year's draft to be one of the greatest—but the 2012 NFL draft class could very well be one of the greatest.

The first round should be loaded with talent with two of the most anticipated quarterback prospects all of time in Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III leading the way.

In that spirit, let's take a look at my 50 players that I'm projecting to make at least one Pro Bowl in their NFL career.

Andrew Luck

1 of 50

If Andrew Luck ends up being as good as he's projected to be then there's no question he'll make a few Pro Bowls in his day.

With all the hype surrounding him, we might as well induct him into the Hall of Fame by now—just kidding.

Robert Griffin III

2 of 50

I am telling you right now: Robert Griffin III is the real deal and he is going to tear it up.

RG3 is one of the most unique and dynamic players that we have ever seen play the quarterback position and he is going to take his game to a whole new level in the NFL.

Matt Kalil

3 of 50

There's no reason why Matt Kalil wont make the Pro Bowl throughout his NFL career if he plays to his full potential.

Kalil has the ability to be a premiere left tackle for one lucky franchise for many years to come.

Morris Claiborne

4 of 50

Morris Claiborne has elite size for a cornerback and has the ability to be a shutdown cornerback for many years to come.

With Claiborne's ability to cover the best that the NFL has to offer along with his phenomenal ball skills, he should make a bunch of Pro Bowls.

Trent Richardson

5 of 50

From last year's draft, the No. 1 running back was Mark Ingram and now with this year's draft, the No. 1 running back is Alabama's Trent Richardson and he is the real deal.

Ingram is more of a power-runner than he is balance but Richardson is certainly much more well-rounded as well as being powerful and still maintaining the ability to break one loose.

Justin Blackmon

6 of 50

Justin Blackmon is the best available wide receiver in the NFL draft this year and he is going to be a stud.

Granted, I do not see him being better than A.J. Green or Julio Jones from a year ago, but he's just a small step behind those two.

Riley Reiff

7 of 50

Riley Reiff dominated at Iowa and he is going to take his game to a whole new level in the NFL.

Reiff is the second best available left tackle prospect in this year's draft and much like Matt Kalil, he will not disappointment.

Courtney Upshaw

8 of 50

Courtney Upshaw may not the best pass rusher available in the 2012 draft class but he's the best available outside linebacker.

Upshaw is incredible versatile as he can play any linebacker position whether it's in the 3-4 or in the 4-3.

Michael Brockers

9 of 50

Michael Brockers is the most well-rounded defensive linemen in the 2012 draft class.

Brockers has elite size and strength and can dominate at the NFL level and should make a few Pro Bowls down the line.

Kendall Wright

10 of 50

No one may be giving Kendall Wright a ton of credit but he has all the tools to be a real threat against opposing secondaries in many years to come.

Wright has blazing speed and can develop into a lethal, yards-after-catch receiver and earn himself quite a few Pro Bowl appearances.

Mike Adams

11 of 50

Mike Adams out of Ohio State is one of the most unknown offensive tackle prospects that the 2012 draft class has to offer but he certainly has the upside to be an elite player.

Adams possesses elite size but lacks strength at this point, but if he puts on more muscle then he'll make some Pro Bowls in his career.

Dre Kirkpatrick

12 of 50

There may be some questions about Dre Kirkpatrick's character but he has tons of talent to be a solid cornerback at the NFL level.

Kirkpatrick doesn't have too many weaknesses which leads me to believe that he'll have some good chances at making the Pro Bowl in the upcoming seasons.

Michael Floyd

13 of 50

When you look at Notre Dame's Michael Floyd, he is built like a tight end but runs like a wide receiver.

Floyd figures to be a mid-first rounder and if he's developed as a team's No. 1 wide receiver, then I'm sure he'll make his share of Pro Bowls.

Dont’a Hightower

14 of 50

Dont’a Hightower is quite the intriguing prospect that has a very bright future in the NFL.

Hightower can play just about any linebacker position in the 3-4 and the 4-3 which is going to make him more appealing to teams in the draft and I'm sure he'll make a few Pro Bowls as he's such a tackling machine.

Johnathan Martin

15 of 50

Coming out of Stanford, Johnathan Martin is one of the top left tackle prospects available in the 2012 draft class.

Martin did a fine job protecting Andrew Luck's blind-side at Stanford and should do just fine at the NFL level.

David DeCastro

16 of 50

Much like Johnathan Martin, David DeCastro did a phenomenal job at protecting Andrew Luck at Stanford.

DeCastro is the best available offensive guard as he is one of the most dominant prospects at his position in recent memory and should definitely make a few Pro Bowls.

Janoris Jenkins

17 of 50

I absolutely love Janoris Jenkins and I truly believe that he's going to be a star in the NFL.

If Jenkins wasn't dismissed from Florida a year ago and didn't have so many questions about his character, then he would easily be a top 10 or even a top five pick.

Luke Kuechly

18 of 50

Boston College isn't known for producing too many skill position players but they do a fine job at producing linebackers and offensive linemen.

Luke Kuechly was a tackling machine for the Eagles over the past few seasons and absolutely dominated the ACC and should do pretty well at the NFL level.

Nick Perry

19 of 50

Nick Perry is a sack machine—and I mean he is one of the most dominant pure pass-rushers that the 2012 draft class has to offer.

The biggest concern about Perry is his ability to play against the run, but he he's coached up then he should be a sure-shot for a couple of Pro Bowls in his career.

Zach Brown

20 of 50

The thing about North Carolina's Zach Brown is that he's a bit small for a linebacker but he can always add a few more pounds of strength.

Brown is an incredible athlete as he has elite speed for his position and will cover a ton of ground in the NFL.

Cordy Glenn

21 of 50

Georgia's Cordy Glenn is an absolute monster—and I mean he overpowers and just dominants defensive linemen and is a great point-of-attack blocker.

Glenn has the strength to dominate as an offensive guard at the NFL level but needs to work on his footwork, but that's always coachable.

Devon Still

22 of 50

For a guy that has elite size for a defensive linemen, Devon Still is very athletic that it's pretty freakish.

Still is not only a run-stuffer but he can penetrate against the pass and put pressure on the opposing quarterback. If he's used correctly, then he should make a few Pro Bowls in his career.

Fletcher Cox

23 of 50

For a man that is as big as Fletcher Cox, he has elite athleticism for a defensive linemen as he has such a quick step at the snap of the ball that he can beat just about any offensive linemen.

My only problem with Cox is that he doesn't have too many moves in his arsenal as he's such a raw talent that will need a ton of coaching in order to be dominant in the NFL.

Vinny Curry

24 of 50

Vinny Curry is one of my sleepers heading into the 2012 NFL draft as he has such an amazing skill-set but he played against lower-end competition while at Marshall.

Curry reminds me a lot of Cliff Avril and Andre Carter as he can rush the passer pretty effectively but does a solid job against the run.

Melvin Ingram

25 of 50

Melvin Ingram is one of the best pure pass-rushers in the 2012 draft class but he's a streaky player as he can come up with quite a few pressures in one drive and then simply disappear the next drive.

Ingram is a well-rounded athlete as he's pretty athletic for his size with great speed but is also powerful against opposing blockers.

If Ingram can find a way to be more consistent in the NFL, then he'll find his way to Hawaii.

Jerel Worthy

26 of 50

If Jerel Worthy can just stay in shape then he could be an absolute monster in the NFL.

Worthy has incredible size and strength and is pretty fast at the snap of the ball for a guy his size, but it's just a matter of making sure he's in a good shape so he can utilize his natural talents.

Alfonzo Dennard

27 of 50

Alfonzo Dennard is one of the most physical corner backs that the 2012 NFL draft has to offer but sometimes that comes to hurt him as he doesn't have elite speed to recover against a wide receiver that beats his press-coverage.

Dennard is extremely strong for a corner and if he uses it correctly, then he'll be named to a few Pro Bowls in his career.

Ryan Tannehill

28 of 50

Call me crazy but I really like quarterback Ryan Tannehill and I think he can be a pretty efficient passer in the NFL.

Tannehill is very athletic for a quarterback as he's a converted wide receiver which makes his skills at the quarterback position shaky.

With a few years of grooming I could see Tannehill pilling up the yardage and earning himself some Pro Bowl appearances.

Lamar Miller

29 of 50

Lamar Miller is an incredibly well-rounded running back as he's got perfect size with blazing speed and can read blocks very well.

Miller could fit in nicely in a two-back system while racking up the yardage and being named to a few Pro Bowls in his career as he has the potential to be such a lethal threat.

Mark Barron

30 of 50

Alabama's Mark Barron is the best safety prospect that the draft has to offer and he should have a bright future ahead of him.

Barron doesn't too many weaknesses but he does need to improve his tackling and if he does then he could emerge as one of the top tier safeties in a couple of seasons.

Stephon Gilmore

31 of 50

Stephon Gilmore may be a cornerback and a return man but he does not have elite speed for position and that's one of his very few weaknesses.

Gilmore stands in at 6'1" and has great ball skills and could certainly pick off a bunch of passes during his career and earn him trips to Hawaii.

Peter Konz

32 of 50

If you ask me, Wisconsin's Peter Konz is one of the best available centers in the 2012 draft and has a solid chance at making a few Pro Bowls throughout his career.

Konz has incredible size for a center as well as a ton of strength but his biggest problem is that he gets off balance a lot and that obviously needs to be worked on.

Jared Crick

33 of 50

Nebraska's Jared Crick is quite the physical specimen as he stands in at 6'6" which allows him to cover a ton of ground due to his elite height and length.

If Crick adds some more muscle then he should be named to a couple Pro Bowls throughout his career.

Mohamed Sanu

34 of 50

Mohamed Sanu has decent size for a wide receiver as he stands in at 6'2" and is one of the most versatile wide receivers in the draft as he can play just about any position that's split out.

Sanu does have raw talent which could hurt him if he doesn't turn his talent into skills but I'm sure he'll make a few Pro Bowls in his career.

Brandon Weeden

35 of 50

Brandon Weeden may be 28-years-old but that only leads me to believe that he is NFL-ready and ready to exceed at a high level.

Weeden has a very strong arm as well as being very athletic and I believe he's going to have a solid career as an NFL quarterback.

Ryan Broyles

36 of 50

The biggest concern with Ryan Broyles is that he tore his ACL back in November and we'll just have to wait and see if that affects his career in the NFL.

Other than that, Broyles is very athletic and is a great yards-after-catch receiver and could find himself in a Pro Bowl at some point of his career if he develops correctly.

Chris Polk

37 of 50

Washington running back Chris Polk may be very fast but he does not have elite speed. Other than that, Polk is very effective in the open field as he can read blocks and accelerate to the openings.

If Polk gets his touches in the NFL, then he could very well make a few Pro Bowls as a 1,000 yard rusher.

Vontaze Burfict

38 of 50

My biggest problem with Vontaze Burfict is that I question his football IQ as he's called for a personal foul nearly every game and misdiagnoses plays over and over again.

If Burfict can get his head screwed on right, then he could be a real force at the linebacker position as he's such an incredible talent.

Orson Charles

39 of 50

With the NFL heading into such a pass-happy league, the tight end position is becoming more and more valuable.

With that being said, Orson Charles is the best available tight end as he's well-rounded as a blocker and a receiver and should make a few Pro Bowls.

Dwayne Allen

40 of 50

Dwayne Allen isn't as well-rounded as Orson Charles, but he's probably the best available pass catcher in the tight end class this year.

Allen was a solid red-zone target while at Clemson and could find himself playing in a few Pro Bowls if all works out well.

Coby Fleener

41 of 50

Coby Fleener is yet another tight end that the 2012 draft class has to offer and he's more of a receiver than blocker but can get the job done as a blocker if he adds on a few pounds.

Fleener did very well with Andrew Luck at quarterback and should do just fine at the NFL level as he's a great athlete with elite size.

Chandler Jones

42 of 50

Chandler Jones does have the correct size to be a defensive end in the 4-3 defense but has very raw talent and should not have left school so early.

In a few years if Jones develops accordingly, he could be a solid pass-rusher and maybe make a few Pro Bowls.

Lavonte David

43 of 50

Lavonte David may be a bit undersized but he's an absolute monster as he's such a hard hitter and is in on every play.

If David continues to play like he did at Nebraska, then he could make a few bids at a Pro Bowl during his career.

Dwight Jones

44 of 50

The biggest knock on North Carolina's Dwight Jones is that he doesn't always use his hands when he catches the ball which causes him to be a bit inconsistent.

If Jones can clean that up, he has all the tools to be successful then he could make a few Pro Bowls in his career.

Travis Lewis

45 of 50

Travis Lewis is pretty athletic outside linebacker as he can cover ground well but does not have the elite size to be a great outside linebacker at the NFL level.

If Lewis adds a few more pounds then he could make a run at a few Pro Bowls in his career.

Joe Adams

46 of 50

I really like Joe Adams as a prospect as he's such an explosive wide receiver with elite speed but he has a problem with fumbling the ball and is a bit undersized.

If Adams gets his playing time and gets a chance to play, then he has a solid chance of electrifying opposing defenses.

Brandon Boykin

47 of 50

Brandon Boykin is pretty versatile as he's not only a cornerback but a return man as he's got blazing speed and should return more at the NFL level rather than playing corner.

With that being said, Boykin may have a chance of making a Pro Bowl as a return man.

Reuben Randle

48 of 50

LSU wide receiver Rueben Randle has a solid skill set and great hands for a wide receiver but is a bit underdeveloped.

Randle has a ton of potential and if he develops correctly, then he could be a Pro Bowl caliber wide receiver.

Whitney Mercilus

49 of 50

Whitney Mercilus does not have elite speed for a defensive end yet he is pretty effective against rushing the passer.

While at Illinois, Mercilus proved to be pretty well-rounded as he's solid against the run and the pass. If he continues to get better then he could make a few bids at a Pro Bowl throughout his career.

Stephen Hill

50 of 50

While playing at Georgia Tech, Stephen Hill's numbers suffered a ton as he played in the triple-option offense but he still is a quality wide receiver prospect.

Hill stands in at 6'5" and has the potential to be great which could lead to a few Pro Bowl bids throughout his career.
