New York Knicks: Rumors Continue to Swirl as Linsanity Meets South Beach
All of a sudden, the Knicks are at the forefront of the NBA once again.
No thanks to their "superstars," Carmelo Anthony or Amar'e Stoudemire, but because of their new floor general, Jeremy Lin.
With great power comes great responsibility, and also lots of rumors concerning both basketball and, of course, Kim Kardashian. Time to address all of them before they get out of hand.
As far as Kim K goes, as much as we'd all like to live vicariously through Jeremy Lin and see him date her, he crushed our hopes and dreams and denied all reports, stating that he doesn't think he's really her type.
I mean, let's be real here: His underdog story is already amazing, she would just be the cherry on top, but I guess we'll have to do without the cherry for now.
Back to basketball as the Knicks prepare to match up with the Heat, the clear-cut favorites to win not only the Eastern Conference, but also the NBA championship.
Miami is playing some of the best basketball of the season while the Knicks are coming off a game in which they seem to have everything clicking.
There were reports of Atlanta Hawks swingman Marvin Williams wanting out of the ATL and into the Big Apple. However, Williams has recently denied such reports, stating "You know that's not me."
Williams is a solid defender, but not sure there is really a place for him on the Knicks roster.Like I stated previously, the Knicks match up with Miami tonight and that brings me to my next rumor. Apparently, the Heat recruited Baron Davis during the offseason, but obviously Davis decided to go in a different direction.
Maybe he felt like he had a better shot at playing time in New York. Clearly, he couldn't predict Linsanity just like everyone else, including Jeremy Lin himself.
Will Davis regret his decision? Only time will tell, but I'd be a little upset if the team that I rejected was hoisting the Larry O'Brien trophy at the end of the season.
Last but not least, I'd like to address the latest New York Knicks' skeptic, George Karl, who believes that New York will struggle in the playoffs due to their "meshing personalities." Seems like ever since Karl lost Carmelo, he can't help but talk about all things Carmelo. Got to let it go, George. Got to let it go.
It's almost like the Knicks could have their own show. They've got the diva, Melo. The nerd, Lin. The wannabe tough guy who can't play without his goggles, Stoudemire. And of course, the unpredictable guy, JR Smith.
Should be interesting moving forward. Stay tuned!
