Most Hilarious Sad Fans Ever

Jeff ChaseFeb 23, 2012

Being a fan of a sports team is pretty much a religion to some, and during the hardest times our emotions get the best of us.

Unfortunately during these days of the Internet and television, every single one of us is vulnerable to being exposed to the world for the emotional battles we face.

While there are many more to come, these 20 are some of the most hilarious that we have ever seen.

20. Players are Fans!

1 of 20

We will get this started with Mr. Tim Tebow.

Look, I am all for him being emotional, but this is just a candid moment of an athlete being really upset with the outcome of the game.

Is this hilarious, or is this something that we need more often in sports?

Debate!

19. Me! Me! Me! Oh...

2 of 20

Almost every kid's dream when they go to the ballpark is to get a baseball from a player.

This New York Mets fan was not going to be satisfied unless he was given a little piece of the action.

You know what, get used to it. I have been going to the ballpark for over 20 years, and I have yet to be given a ball.

By the way, they got the same thing over at your local sports store. And it is a lot cleaner.

18. No! We Were so Close! Right?

3 of 20

Accepting a loss to one of your biggest rivals is never easy, but I think it is perhaps a little late for this reaction.

With your team down 14 with less than three minutes in the game, it is pretty clear that this game has been out of reach.

Its OK though! You haven't even seen the Iowa State game yet!

17. LeBron!!!!!!!!

4 of 20

With the Cleveland Cavaliers down by two against the Orlando Magic in Game 2 of the NBA playoffs, this young Cavs fan was so nervous.

Perhaps, he didn't know the series was best-of-seven, as the Cavs were already down one game in the series.

To his, and I think mostly everyone's (OK, I know he isn't THAT bad), LeBron James sunk a buzzer-beater that won the game 96-95 for the Cavs.

I'm sure that turned that frown upside down!

16. Dad, Coach K Stinks

5 of 20

Poor kid.

He was watching the Duke Blue Devils, a clearly superior basketball program, falling to their ACC rivals in the Maryland Terrapins.

You know what is probably running through his mind?

"They need to fire this Coach K guy!"

Luckily, he doesn't make these decisions.

15. Peyton Will Always Be in Our Hearts

6 of 20

While I can assume this picture was after the Indianapolis Colts lost the 2009 Super Bowl, but I am going to relate it to more recent events.

That of course is the potential departure of quarterback Peyton Manning.

This fan is clearly upset, but I am sure when his pops gives him a spanking new No. 12 Luck jersey, he'll turn that frown upside down.

14. Which Year Is This?

7 of 20

It must be hard to be a Philadelphia Eagles fan. I honestly feel bad for them, as they have never won a Super Bowl.

They came close so many times, and they should have when they had electrifying offenses made up of Donovan McNabb, Terrell Owens and Brian Westbrook.

With Michael Vick under center, perhaps that 'ship will come sooner than later.

13. I Wish I Could Find the Video

8 of 20

The video of this fan freaking out a soccer game is priceless. Too bad it can't be found.

Soccer is a pretty emotional game, as the intensity grows as the match goes on.

I can't even remember why he was freaking out so much, but the picture is just priceless.

12. The Paper Bags Always Get Me

9 of 20

I'm a sucker for paper bag-headed fans. This is just one, but this slide goes out to them all.

The fact that these people's 15 seconds of fame all came with their identity covered really shows how much embarrassment they have for their team.

I don't think the paper bags will slow down anytime soon, but I am hoping we start to see something more creative over the years.

11. Wait, What Inning Is It?

10 of 20

You know when you are watching a telecast of a game, and you see that person who really doesn't want to be there?

Yeah, that is this girl.

I don't know if she even realizes she is at the Chicago Cubs game, or if she is just flat out miserable because they are likely losing (I'm a fan, I can say it).

Either way, this girl just looks flat out sick to be sitting in Wrigley Field.

10. Don't Hold Your Breath

11 of 20

Don't you just hate it when you go through all this time to paint your face only to lose? The worst feeling is losing the game while looking like a fool.

Maybe I just don't understand the idea of painting your face, but the thought of sitting through an entire sporting event with your face covered in heavy paint while smelling the fumes through your nose while sweating your tail off just doesn't sound fun to me.

Well, maybe if my team won.

9. Please Don't Touch the Glass

12 of 20

New York Mets fans have had it rough over the last few years, and there is no better picture that explains this feeling than this.

This fan though should follow the rules of glass, and that is: when you see it, you don't touch it.

Nobody wants his sobbing tears all over it.

8. I Don't Normally Laugh at Kids

13 of 20

I'm sorry, I don't like to laugh at kids who are upset, but this is just too funny.

Unfortunately, her wish is for the Minnesota Vikings to win.

I think that is biting off a little more than you can chew.

7. Big Hand Baylor Fan

14 of 20

Even though the Baylor Bears were clear favorites to win the Alamo Bowl, the Washington Huskies gave them a run for their money.

At one point in the game, the score was 42-24 Huskies. Apparently, it caused so much frustration to Bears fans that it actually swelled up their hands.

The Bears did prevail 67-56. Yes, this was a football game.

6. This Is How Many Relationships End

15 of 20

This Alabama Crimson Tide student became infamous for the reactions between him and his girlfriend towards the end of the LSU Tigers and Crimson Tide game in the early parts of 2011.

She was worried, and he clearly had nothing to say.

I imagine this upset her, and they ended up getting in an argument.

I can only hope that they found love once again when the Crimson Tide took the BCS title during that same season.

I can only hope.

5. Oh No! at Least I'm Just 10

16 of 20

Like I said, I hate to laugh at kids.

But come on, can this kid really be this upset about his Switzerland soccer team losing?

I am pretty sure he hasn't endeared enough time to understand much of anything, but I can assure you he will likely grow to understand the team's struggles in the future.

Sorry Switzerland.

4. It's a Family Affair

17 of 20

A family that cries together, stays together.

Actually, I have no idea if all these people are related. If they are not, well then it is a little awkward if you ask me.

Either way, it is a nice photo to add to the family photo album.

3. She Didn't Want the Sparkles!

18 of 20

When the Green Bay Packers lost to the New York Giants during the 2011-12 NFL Playoffs, I figured fans were upset.

Not this upset though, as this Packers fan clearly didn't like a few of her pre-game choices.

She clearly didn't want the sparkles, and she most definitely should have worn her Aaron Rodgers jersey.

It's OK! There is always next season!

2. Rock Chalk, I'm a Jayhawk

19 of 20

When the Kansas Jayhawks fell to the VCU Rams at last year's college basketball playoffs, fans were clearly distraught, considering their team was picked to be the favorite to win it all.

This photo is pretty priceless, as we have a Kansas fan crying while looking as if he is coming out of the mouth a Jayhawk (it is real, I think).

My only question is, how much did that whole Jayhawk getup cost?

1. Clemson Fan Loses It

20 of 20

When the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets defeated the Clemson Tigers in a close game, which had the Tigers coming from behind all game, it is an easy thing to deal with.

Especially for this Tigers fan.

The best part of this whole thing is ESPN commentator Chris Fowler making fun of him. The kid was clearly distraught, and that was enough for the worldwide leader in sports to have their fun at it.
