NFL Combine 2012: Physical Freaks Who Will Steal the Show at Combine
There are some NFL prospects who are simply made to shine in shorts and t-shirts. Some of them turn into great football players and some of them don't, yet either way they're still legitimate physical freaks.
That is saying something considering almost everyone in the league is a physical freak to some degree.
The guys that truly shine at the NFL Scouting Combine are a different level, though. Any combination of size, speed, strength, explosion and agility applies and more often than not they dominate every physical event in Indianapolis.
Here are this year's physical freaks.
Zach Brown, OLB, UNC
No player in this draft class is built for the combine better than Brown.
The UNC senior checks in just shy of 6'2" and 236 pounds and has tremendous athleticism. Essentially he's a safety playing linebacker, thus giving him incredible speed and agility for the position.
He will dominate everything.
Fletcher Cox, DL, Mississippi State
Cox continues to rise up draft boards because of his versatility. He'll put that versatility on display fully in Indianapolis and continue to rise up the board even more.
At 6'4", 295 pounds, he's a gifted athlete who'll shine in any scheme.
If you have only heard his name and not seen him play yet, he'll force you to remember him now.
Melvin Ingram, DE, South Carolina
Much like Cox, Ingram has enjoyed a solid rise up boards since season's end, and much of it has been deserved.
Ingram is a bit undersized at 6'2", 276 pounds, but he displays great strength and speed for that size.
Teams love the way he uses his burst off the edge and if he runs well he could continue to rise.
Lamar Miller, RB, Miami
Miller's a very good athlete, but his combine is all about his 40-yard dash time. There have been rumors of him possessing sub-4.4 speed for some time, and he should post a number somewhere in that range.
He's got good size to boot, and if he does run that fast it will be one of the most talked about happenings in Indy.
