Michigan Football: Columbus Receiver Becomes Commit No. 12
No. 12 and counting.
Brady Hoke landed another Ohio recruit today, this time from right under the nose of Urban Meyer.
The Wolverines received a verbal commitment from Jaron Dukes, a 3-star receiver from Columbus (Marion-Franklin).
At 6'4", 200 lbs, Dukes brings a very tall target to the Michigan receiving corps. Earlier this month, Duke visited Ann Arbor and liked what he saw. "It went great," Dukes told scout.com. "I saw everything...the facilities, academic programs, just everything."
A Michigan fan despite being from Columbus, Dukes has been leaning Michigan's way for awhile.
The first wide receiver taken in Michigan's 2013 class, he also had offers from Illinois and Toledo.
Contrary to his three-star rating, Dukes showed some promise during the season.
In a game against rival Trotwood-Madison, Dukes caught seven passes for over 170 yards. His performance came against highly-touted Ohio State commit Cameron Burrows.
For his size, Dukes showed "surprising (4.6) speed," noted scout.com's Dave Berk.
