NFL Combine 2012 Schedule: Report Dates, Activities, TV Info and More

It isn't truly NFL Draft season until the NFL Scouting Combine takes place, and that is precisely what will happen over the next week. All of college football's top prospects will be poked, prodded, questioned and tested ahead of April's draft.

Special teamers, offensive linemen and tight ends will begin to filter into Indianapolis on Wednesday and the rest of the prospects will follow in the coming days. The action will really heat up on Saturday, though, when workouts begin. They will continue through Tuesday.

Ultimately the combine may only be players running around in skin-tight shirts and shorts, but when utilized correctly, it can be an effective evaluation tool. Teams like the Oakland Raiders seem to rely solely on combine results too often, but when combined with in-game performances, they contribute to a nice overall portfolio on most players.
