Tyreke Evans Video: Watch Kings' Star Sink Sensational Half-Court Buzzer Beater

If you want to beat the Miami Heat these days, you better come to the arena prepared to do something special.

Like, you know, sink a halfcourt shot at the buzzer. One of those won't guarantee victory against the Heat, but it won't hurt.

And this brings us, in a roundabout way, to Sacramento Kings guard Tyreke Evans. He and the Kings got off to a hot start against the Heat in the first quarter on Tuesday night, and Evans capped it all off by nailing a halfcourt shot at the horn.

To boot, he banked it in. It counted because you don't have to call those when you're playing a regular game and because he got it off before the quarter expired.

It put the Kings up 32-26.

Evans has something of a habit of knocking down shots like this. As you'll no doubt recall, Evans beat the Memphis Grizzlies with an amazing buzzer beater in late December of 2010. That shot was ridiculous.

Evans' latest buzzer beater wasn't quite as ridiculous, but it was still pretty sweet. At worst, it was a bright spot, and the Kings need as many of those as they can get this season. They're just not very good.

The Heat subsequently stormed back and took the lead in the second quarter, and they looked like they're well on their way to another win.

If things carry on this way, Evans may need to hit another halfcourt shot before this one is over. If it comes to that, the Heat would be wise to put a hand in his face.
