LeBron James Crab Dribbling His Way to Failure

Joe Burgett Jan 6, 2009

As many know LeBron James got caught by a referee in the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Washington Wizards for taking to many steps on his way to the basket.

I counted four myself.

It is officially called traveling by the basketball rule book, something that James may not can read considering he never went to college.

If he could he would know that.

I feel James is a good player, but he has been kind of drifting off to me. See the problem with James is that he tries to take jumpers he has no business taking. His three-point percentage is terrible and never seems to be able to his that big jumper to win the game.

He did more earlier in his career than he is doing now. If he went to the basket every time he would be unstoppable because no one can get in front of him and stop him from scoring.  He ends up getting the foul even if he tries to get in front off him.

Which brings me to another flaw, his free throws.

Now to be fair he has gotten better at free throws, but not anywhere near the place he should be.

He is the star player for the Cavs. And they cannot count on him to hit a key free throw? Kind of sad to me. As I mentioned, he has gotten better, but if he wants to be the best in the NBA like I know he does, he will have to work on that.

Also, what is up with the crab dribble, James? I have never heard of it. Of course, I know I am no urban guy or anything. I may not know all the slang out there, but I think that is a LeBron James original.

If you actually admit you made a mistake, James, you'd be better off. Yes, you are the face of the Cavs, and Nike, and the NBA.

But you can make mistakes. You don't have to make a word up to hide the mistake.

The fact was you got away with it last year in the playoffs against the same Wizard team. You got caught this time off guard. You didn't like it, and that is understandable. The fact was the ref was watching closely and it was a good call.

I know you hate the fact that 90 percent of the time you get away with it, and the one time you don't it is frustrating, especially when it costs you a win or something.

Sorry to hit a nerve, James.

But next time, if you make a mistake live up to it. Just go along with what you do best, throw your chalk in the air, and get to playing Cavs ball.

Or that is until your contract ends.

We all know you're leaving, or do you have another word for it? Skipping town? Hopping to another squad?

Okay, I am not good at making up stuff. I will just leave it to you, James, because you clearly are so much better at it.

Do you think the crab dribble (as James calls it) was traveling or legal?
