WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: 5 Predictions for Tonight's Show

Kaleb KelchnerJun 7, 2018

Bleacher Report is gearing up for the February 20th edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, and in preparation, we've rounded up the top five predictions for tonight's show.

Last night at Elimination Chamber, the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships were defended successfully, with CM Punk and Daniel Bryan retaining.

CM Punk got the win after knocking out Chris Jericho with a kick to the head, and pinning the Miz.  The controversy there is Punk never actually eliminated Jericho, who was caught on video after the event, enraged at how it went down.

Santino Marella found himself in a one-on-one situation against Daniel Bryan after eliminating Cody Rhodes and Wade Barrett, and the crowd went wild for him.  Santino nearly had Bryan defeated, but he was forced to submit in the end.

John Cena sent Kane packing in an ambulance in the main event of the evening, clearing the path to his match with The Rock at WrestleMania.

Also, Beth Phoenix defeated Tamina Snuka to defend her Divas Championship, and Jack Swagger defended the United States Championship against Justin Gabriel.

Tonight on Raw, we'll be treated to the Elimination Chamber fallout, as well as an appearance by The Undertaker.

The Undertaker Antagonizes Triple H

1 of 5

"Every story has an ending.  I will write yours tomorrow."

Those words ended The Undertaker's most recent promo package, targeting Triple H.  With 41 days until WrestleMania, the push toward the biggest WWE event of the year really begins tonight, as there are no more pay-per-views until April 1st.

The Undertaker is going to do his best to bring Triple H to accept his WrestleMania challenge.  The WWE COO won't be easily convinced, but Taker is going to start pushing buttons tonight.

WWE Fails to Capitalize on Santino Marella

2 of 5

Last night at Elimination Chamber, the crowd made the most noise of the night for Santino Marella.

He's a talented worker who's been reduced to a comedy role for ages now, and last night, Marella had his moment.

After eliminating Cody Rhodes and Wade Barrett, Marella was stared down by a grinning world heavyweight champion, Daniel Bryan, who thought Marella would be squashed with little effort.  Marella had other plans.

Santino was eventually forced to submit, but not before putting up a fight and getting the entire crowd's support.

Tonight, we won't see the WWE start to push Marella as a legitimate competitor, despite all of the necessary ingredients present to push him to greater heights...and that's a shame.

The Rock Addresses John Cena

3 of 5

John Cena has finally dealt with Kane and can set his sights on The Rock.  And tonight, The Rock will address John Cena.

Whether it will be a pre-taped promo or live, I do not know.  The safe bet is that it'll be taped, which gives Cena plenty of ammunition to use for a promo of his own.

Daniel Bryan Gets Even with Sheamus

4 of 5

Sheamus made his intentions clear at Elimination Chamber, when he attacked Daniel Bryan after the SmackDown chamber match.

Now that Sheamus has some direction, and Daniel Bryan has a firm grip on the Heavyweight Championship, they'll begin to feud immediately.

There's a lot of possibilities for these two tonight, but my prediction is that Daniel Bryan will attack Sheamus during a match and cut a promo.

Chris Jericho Wants a "Fair" Shot at CM Punk

5 of 5

Chris Jericho wasn't truly eliminated from the Elimination Chamber, and he's not pleased that he didn't get a fair shot at taking CM Punk's WWE Championship.

Tonight, Jericho is going to cut a promo on Punk, and Punk will address him head-on.  No more beating around the bush; WWE will begin to throw some serious weight behind this feud.
