New York Knicks' Jeremy Lin: Why 'Suck for Luck' When You Can 'Win for Lin'?

The New York Knicks' Jeremy Lin is so refreshing for the world of sports.

So many times fans root against their team, selfishly hoping for a better draft pick. This is not the case for Jeremy Lin.

Fans have rallied around the undrafted player out of Harvard and he saved the Knicks' season.

So while NFL "fans" were rooting against their favorite teams for possibilities that are uncertain, fans of the New York Knicks are loving every minute of Linsanity.

Look at the effect that Lin is having not only in the NBA but globally.

How many casual fans or casual viewers have tuned into a Kicks game because of what Lin is doing? He is attracting a nation's attention and creating new fans with every game. He has people all over the world rooting for him.

He was able to remove the glue attaching him to the bench and win games for the Knicks.

The fans of the NFL are passionate and lame at the same time.

Fans are not professional athletes. They don't understand the effort that goes into a game. So when teams struggle to win, how dare fans attack their execution and criticize every bad play?

When a franchise struggles, fans hope that they lose-out in order for the team to obtain a higher draft pick.

Athletes get paid to win games, they play games to try to earn another shot at another season. Instead of focusing on the negativity, fans should focus on the positive.

The "Suck For Luck" campaign was funny at first, but disgusting by Week 17.

Players put so much into the game and when they don't get the result that they are looking for, fingers get pointed and excuses roll out. It's about time for fans to be cheering for the positives in sports.

The Knicks were 8-15 before Lin was a starter. Now they are in playoff contention. Amazing how one player's work ethic and focus can change a franchise.

Just weeks ago, Lin was absolutely nobody to the nation. Today, he is a huge sensation.

Fans are rooting for the underdog once again. New fans are being attracted to the NBA. The lockout is over. Basketball is back and better than ever.

The emergence of Jeremy Lin has fans hoping for the Knicks to go far this postseason.

When they had nearly double the amount of losses as wins, Knick fans wanted to focus on the present and win now. And Lin sure was a present.

Jeremy Lin is simply amazing in how he came off the bench and played like a veteran. It is healthy for not only the sports world but the world to root for Lin.

He is respectful to the media yet a killer to the opposition. If this kid can develop his game even more, it's scary to think of how good he can become.

So while some miserable, selfish fans do exist today, just shrug them off and focus on the positive of sports.

Everybody loves a Cinderella, or Linderella story and who knows if and when another player like this will ever be around. So hop on the Linsain bandwagon, enjoy it while it lasts. It seems as if it's going to be a long ride.
