Peyton Manning Rumors: Jets Are Legendary QB's Best Shot at Super Bowl Ring
If the Colts release Peyton Manning, the living legend should make his way to the Big Apple.
Manning could still re-sign in Indy, but with the Andrew Luck era on the horizon, the general consensus is that he will be let go. And if he is put on the open market, the Jets could be in the running for his services.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
""One of the teams that's remained somewhat in the mix is the New York Jets. Some outsiders are not convinced of Mark Sanchez's legitimacy as an NFL-caliber QB, and a report earlier this offseason cited anonymous players that would prefer Manning to the USC product."

While it's unclear if the Jets would actually pull the trigger on a Manning experiment, they are undoubtedly his best option at winning a second Super Bowl ring.
Manning carried awful defenses deep into the playoffs year after year, but he wouldn't have that problem in New York. The Jets had one of the league's best defenses last season, finishing fifth in passing yards allowed (201.0 per game) and 13th in opponent rushing yards (111.1 per game).
They could also supply Manning with plenty of weapons offensively. Dustin Keller is one of the best tight ends in the NFL. Shonn Greene is a strong runner and legit receiver out of the backfield. Santonio Holmes is one of the most dangerous deep threats in football.
And with plenty of cash and the bright lights of New York, the Jets could easily reel in a top free agent receiver this offseason.
If Manning does go to New York, he'll obviously have to hug it out with Rex Ryan. The two have had a less than pleasant relationship over the years, but given their competitive fire, I'm sure they could put their differences aside.
Manning would also have to prove that he's actually healthy enough to be a quality quarterback again. So far, reports on his post-surgery throwing ability haven't been encouraging. Still, I'm not willing to count out the best quarterback I've ever seen.
If he hits free agency, Manning will have plenty of suitors. The Redskins, Dolphins and Seahawks all need help in the passing game, and they'd be ecstatic to land the legendary QB.
However, if Manning wants to add another Super Bowl title to his resume, he should take his talents to New York.
