Blake Griffin Video: Watch Clippers Star Throw Down Thunderous Slam vs. Spurs
Another day went by, and Blake Griffin once again reminded us why we so desperately want to see him defend his NBA Slam Dunk title in the 2012 All-Star weekend contest.
After watching him tear down Los Angeles with his thunderous two-handed slam against the Spurs, one has to seriously wonder why the Lob City star decided to shun the contest this year.
I don't want to hear anything about not being able to top last year's dunks. This is Griffin we're talking about—all we care about is watching him dunk the ball. I guarantee if he threw down a similar slam next weekend that he would walk away a two-time Slam Dunk champion.
Griffin's immense presence and athleticism alone would have made him a lock against the underwhelming list of participants the NBA is providing the fans.
Seriously—Chase Budinger, Paul George, Derrick Williams and Iman Shumpert? The most exciting name participating in the event is Jeremy Lin, and he's just going to be used as a prop!
If only Griffin were able to reconsider. Maybe we fans need to start a petition to convince him to be a surprise entrant. We just want more incredible dunks like the one he threw down against the Spurs. We're begging for it.
Look at him fly through the air after a phenomenal between-the-legs bounce back from his teammate! That's all we're looking for, Blake!
Here's hoping by some miracle from the basketball gods that we get to see Griffin torture foes at the 2012 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
But hey, at least we'll get to see him own his rivals during the Rising Stars Challenge and All-Star Game!
