LeBron James Will Be a Cleveland Cavalier in 2015

Paul GrossingerJun 4, 2018

In 2014, Cleveland will forgive LeBron James and he will return home to finish his career.

When James said, "I am taking my talents to South Beach," he made the worst mistake of his career. He ditched the hometown fans who adored him and the owner who basically let him run the franchise.

He left that for Miami, a place where life is fast and basketball is only important when the team gets to the Finals.

James will finish his contract in Miami.  There is little doubt of that: he is the best player in the league and Miami inked him for his prime years.  But James will still be a great player when he opts out and he clearly pines to return to the place that made him the league's biggest star.

He now realizes his mistake: he believed that winning multiple titles was his chance at immortality.  But, in reality, it was remaining in Cleveland and winning a title there for a long-suffering fanbase that would have made him the greatest player of this generation.

Now, James hopes to correct his mistake and maybe get the best of both worlds.

After all, if he wins multiple titles over the next four years in Miami and finishes his career as the hometown here, nothing could be better than that.

And James knows it.
