Elimination Chamber 2012: Predicting How the Matches Will Go Down

Louie BabcockJun 2, 2018

Tomorrow is the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, and it is the last one before WrestleMania. I think this is going to be a really good event, and I have some opinions on how the matches are going to go down.

The match list: Tamina vs. Beth Phoenix for the Divas Championship. John Cena vs. Kane in an ambulance match. SmackDown Elimination Chamber. Raw Elimination Chamber.

Beth Phoenix vs. Tamina Snuka

1 of 4

Tamina Snuka has been pushed recently. It is no secret that Tamina is the daughter of the Hall of Famer Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka. She has developed into one of the top Divas in WWE.

We will see Tamina take it to Beth Phoenix in this match. Not many Divas on the roster have been able to give Beth a competitive match lately, so we should be in for a treat.

What to Expect

I expect Tamina to go over Beth and win the Divas Championship. This could happen a couple of different ways. Tamina can win clean or with interference.

Kharma has been lingering around with nothing to do and I can see her making her presence felt in this match. If Natalya is at ringside with Beth, expect her to somehow get the the ref distracted, giving Kharma a chance to make her move and take Beth out.

This will give us a fresh Diva storyline that we have been waiting for since Kharma debuted, Beth vs. Kharma.

With Tamina as the new champion, she will need someone to feud with now too. I see Natalya beginning a feud with her. Two daughters from legendary bloodlines will be battling it out for the championship.

John Cean vs. Kane (Ambulance Match)

2 of 4

John Cena vs. Kane is going to be a very physical match.

For the last few months, Kane has been doing everything he can think of to force John to stop rising above hate and embracing it.

Kane has told John that if he does not embrace the hate, then he will not be able to beat The Rock at WrestleMania.

Over the past few weeks we have seen Kane attack Zack Ryder, John's friend, in the hopes of making Cena snap. We have seen glimpses of Cena beating Kane in such a way that makes us believe that John hates him.

Last week on Raw, Kane attempted to abduct Eve. Cena came to her rescue and she thanked him by planting a kiss right on his lips. This kiss happened in front of Zack, who has been in love with Eve.

Heartbroken, Zack blames Cena for Eve kissing him and Zack confronted John. Zack slapped Cena, and it looked like Cena was ready to knock Zack out.

Kane has definitely carved himself out a space inside of Cena's head, and it is showing in how John has been acting as of late.

What to Expect

I expect Cena to start out very physical in this match and be in control of it for the majority of the time. At some point I think Eve or Zack will become a factor in this match. A big part of me also believes that Eve has been working with Kane all along, and we will see this come to a head tomorrow.

Cena will win this match. Cena needs to look strong going into his WrestleMania match with The Rock.

Will we see some kind of heel turn by Cena tomorrow night? I do not think so simply because it is hard to turn heel while facing a heel. The only way this happens is if Zack shows up tomorrow night and Cena hits him.

Raw Elimination Chamber Match

3 of 4

The Raw Elimination Chamber match will feature the Champion, CM Punk, try and retain his title while going against Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, R-Truth (featuring Little Jimmy) and Chris Jericho.

What to Expect

Elimination Chamber matches are usually very exciting. Add into this match the exceptional wrestling ability of Jericho, Punk and Ziggler, and this should be the match of the night.

I expect Miz to be the first person eliminated in this match. Miz still has a lot of heat on him from the botched spot with Truth a few weeks ago on Raw. He better get used to being buried because I see that in his future.

Kofi will be the next one to go. Kofi is just not at main event status yet, even though WWE is starting to push him that way. Kofi is one of the most athletic wrestlers in the company, but he just has not shown yet that he can compare to some of the other wrestlers when it comes to telling a story in the ring.

Kofi could easily succeed at the upper midcard level in WWE and be a very popular superstar. I just do not ever see him as World Champion material.

R-Truth will be the next to go. His character has evolved very nicely since his face turn. He can work the crowd and his in-ring skills have improved greatly. Truth is another one though that I just cannot see spending a lot of time at the main event level.

Dolph is the next to be eliminated. Unlike the previous two wrestlers, Dolph has what it takes to be on the main event level. He gets great heat from the crowd, is a good talker on the mic and has great in-ring skills. Even though all that is true, he will still not make it to the final two in this match.

We come down to what we all have been waiting for, Punk vs. Jericho. Ever since Jericho returned, we knew he would be setting his sights on Punk and the WWE Championship.

These two men will put on a great display of wrestling at the end of this match. In the end, Jericho will win the title with the help of the mysterious female mentioned from his return promos. I will not even try to speculate who that woman will be. I do not see Laurinaitis being a factor in the outcome of this match at all.

This match will be a good lead in to WrestleMania, giving us three matches to look forward to. We will likely get R-Truth vs. The Miz in a match to end this feud. We will see Kofi take on Dolph, and I can easily see Swagger thrown into this match making it a three-way for the US Title.

And obviously we will see Jericho vs. Punk. This match has the potential to steal the show, and we will see if Punk can regain the title back from Jericho.

SmackDown Elimination Chamber

4 of 4

The above picture was the original plan for this match. Due to Randy Orton being injured, he is out of the match and was replaced by Santino Marella.

For me this match is a lot tougher to pick than the Raw chamber. Four of the six guys could easily walk out as the World Champion and be good for the SmackDown main event scene.

What to Expect

I expect Khali to be the first one eliminated. He knows less wrestling moves than John Cena and Hulk Hogan, and has no business being in this match.

Big show will be the next to go. He will get distracted by AJ somehow and will be the victim once again of Daniel Bryan and his mind games.

Sadly, Santino will be the next to go. Poor Santino has so much fan support, but he just does not have what it takes to be a top star in the WWE.

This leaves us in an interesting spot now. We are left with three top heels battling it out for the title.

I think Bryan is the next to go. He has had a good run with the belt, and has proven he will be on the main event scene for years to come. I think Orton will somehow involve himself at this point leading to Bryan being eliminated.

We are down to Wade and Cody now. This final pairing will not be as great as the Raw final pairing, but will still be a great way to end the match. As much as I would love to see Cody hold both the IC and World title, it won’t happen.

Barrett will defeat Rhodes and become the World Champion. At the conclusion of this match, Sheamus will come out and announce to the world that he chooses to face Barrett at WrestleMania. The two Englishmen will duke it out on the grandest stage of them all, and the winner will hold bragging rights as the best wrestler from across the pond.
