NASCAR Bud Shootout 2012: Start Time, Date, TV Schedule, Lineup and More

Richard LangfordJun 5, 2018

Fire up those engines because it's racing season. The Bud Shootout is ready to get things started in spectacular fashion.

This is an exciting and unique event. Twenty-five drivers are gunning for the top spot with no concern of losing Sprint Cup points.

The field is set, and has actually been revised. While practicing Friday night, there was a five-car crash, which resulted in drivers Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Kurt Busch and AJ Allmendinger all having to go to backup cars.

Prediction: Dale Earnhardt Jr. will take the checkered flag.

Jr. almost always runs strong at Daytona, and this year will be no different. Officials have made steps to move away from the two-man racing that the track saw last year, which will find the drivers utilizing pack racing.

Earnhardt Jr. excels at pack racing here, and he will show that in a big way right off the bat.
