Liga BBVA: Predictions for Round 23 Fixtures of La Liga

It really seems as if league title is Real Madrid's at this point. Barcelona dropped even more points away from home last weekend at Osasuna.

Despite the loss to Real Madrid, Levante still has a hold on fourth position, but things are getting tighter in that race.

After this round, there will be 15 games left for every team and results will have a more telling effect as the season winds down.

Here are the predictions for Round 23 of La Liga.

Getafe vs. Espanyol

This should be a tough battle between two teams with somewhat similar results over the last three weeks. Getafe has only lost twice at home and should be able to defend its home turf.

Real Madrid vs. Racing Santander

Real Madrid has been rolling in the league, and that shouldn't change this weekend.

Prediction: Real Madrid win 3-0

Sevilla vs. Osasuna

Sevilla and Osasuna have slowly traded positions in the last few weeks. Sevilla has three losses in the last few weeks and Osasuna's form has been a lot better. The win against Barcelona will be a certain boost for the squad, despite their poor away form.

Granada CF vs. Real Sociedad

Despite being 17th and 11th in the table, only two points separate these teams. Granada CF needs the points more than their opponent and home advantage will help.

Athletic Bilbao vs. Malaga

This should be a good match between two teams that will be battling it out for a European position at the business end of the season.

Mallorca vs. Villarreal

Villarreal has seen some more positive performances in recent weeks, and that resulted in the teams first away win of the season. Mallorca has been decent enough at home that they may not be troubled.

Sporting Gijon vs. Atletico Madrid

Sporting Gijon hasn't really gotten off the ground this season and face a tough challenge here. Atletico Madrid is close to fourth place as the team has started play a little better recently.

Levante vs. Rayo Vallecano

Can Levante hold off all comers and grab a very surprising fourth-place finish? If they do well against the likes of Rayo Vallecano, it just may happen.

Prediction: Levante win 1-0

Barcelona vs. Valencia

Barcelona dealt with Valencia well in their home leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal. This team is the only undefeated team at home in the league, and that should continue. Valencia has confidence and can certainly give the Catalans trouble, but Barcelona should come out on top.

Real Zaragoza vs. Real Betis

Both teams come into this round with two losses and one win in their last three games. It should be an interesting contest between the leading relegation candidate and a team with hot and cold form.
