WWE Elimination Chamber 2012: Expect Predictable Ending to Cena and Kane Feud

Gabe ZaldivarFeb 18, 2012

John Cena and Kane will duke it out, and the purveyor of darkness and evil will no doubt get sent back under in what is a tired and altogether predictable tale.

Nobody wanted this feud, but I was happy to jump on board in the hope that something interesting or out of the norm would take place.

In not so grand WWE fashion, John Cena is still very much the personality he was a couple of months ago, and the fact that he will be the same after The Elimination Chamber is frustrating.

Kane was supposed to come and offer far more to the John Cena storyline than I fear will be delivered. The WWE has tip-toed and flirted with some giant change by Cena, but every last look of hate or brief showing of an edge is extinguished moments later.

Kane wants Cena to embrace his hate and channel his anger. The thought that Cena would turn heel never crossed the transom of my mind.

There was no way that WWE would ever put a dark tint on their poster boy, but I was hopeful that some sort of change would take place.

Instead, we may have just been wasting our time watching a feud that will go full circle with nothing being accomplished on its way to WrestleMania.

I fully expect for Cena to get rid of hell once and for all, and beat Kane. That is what he does and what WWE is comfortable showing.

When he meets The Rock, he will be the same Cena we all felt was far too nice and far too disliked to really put on an epic show in the main event.

Somehow, we will get just that, despite having the perfect story for him to fall to hell or change personalities. At the very least, he could have received some modicum of an edge or dark side.

After Elimination Chamber, I fear we will all be shown that even that was far too much to ask for.

When Cena rides out on an ambulance on Sunday, it will be the same John Cena most despise, and that does nothing for the buildup to WrestleMania.
