Klitschko vs. Chisora Predictions: Champion Won't Break a Sweat in Title Defense

Michael DixonJun 7, 2018

Vitali Klitschko hasn't lost a fight in almost nine years, a streak that won't be seriously challenged in Saturday's fight versus Dereck Chisora.

According to Bovada, the current betting line for the fight is Klitschko (-1400), Chisora (+750). Those may look like good odds to take the underdog with, but you might as well throw your money into a fire if you're going to do that.

Klitschko is just a machine. He isn't the most charismatic fighter or exciting personality, but he is a one-man wrecking ball. The tale of the tape tells you all that you need to know about this one.

As if that isn't one-sided enough for you, realize that Chisora's two losses have come in his last three fights (including his most recent), while Klitschko hasn't been defeated since June of 2003. Chisora is just not qualified for this bout, that's all there is to it.

The size and reach advantage will be immense for the champion. He will have no problem picking Chisora apart for the first couple of rounds, building a strong lead.

Naturally, that will put the challenger in more of an attacking position, effectively needing a knockout to win. That isn't going to happen.

If Chisora had a better knockout history or if the size and reach didn't work so much in Klitschko's favor, then having to go for the knockout wouldn't be the worst thing. But Chisora is not good enough at scoring those, and Klitschko is too big to allow that to happen.

By the time the middle rounds roll around, Chisora will be too desperate. He will go for a knockout and get caught off guard. That is precisely when Klitschko will take advantage of the mistake and end the fight.

This will be a one-sided bout which Klitschko will end in the middle rounds, retaining the WBC Heavyweight Title.

Prediction:

Klitschko by knockout, sixth round.
