Devin Thomas Video: Watch Prep Star Shatter Backboard on Massive Dunk

Devin Thomas has given Wake Forest fans something to drool over. 

The Pennsylvania high school star who has committed to the Demon Deacons tore the house down in a Mid-Penn Championship game on Thursday after tearing the backboard down. 

While we see players breaking the backboard all the time, there is something special about seeing a high school star doing it. 

We tend to forget just how strong and athletic kids are nowadays. But when you look at what Thomas did, and others are doing on a daily basis, it is not hard to understand why high school sports have exploded in popularity in the last five years. 

There is so much information out there for us to look at everyday that we know these players better than their own families do. 

Thomas may not turn into a college star and go onto great things in the NBA, but he is a viral star forever thanks to his dunk of doom. You can see just how strong he is with this dunk. 

He didn't do anything special before taking the alley-oop from his teammate, but the sheer force that he grabbed the rim and threw it down led to the glass shattering. That kind of power you only find from someone like Dwight Howard or Blake Griffin. 

As much as fans love to see dunks, there has to be more to them than just a simple two-handed slam. Reggie Miller could dunk, but he had no power or pizzazz to his jams. He would go up and come down. 

Boring. 

Thomas is the exciting kind of dunker that gets fans and opposing players excited. When he goes up, you know that something special could happen. He proved that with this monster slam.
