LeBron's Indecision, Jeremy Lin-ternet Gossip: BR5 2/17

BR5May 31, 2018

Welcome to BR5—your source for sports and pop culture news.

Today’s episode of BR5 gets you up-to-date on everything from LeBron’s Indecision to Lin-ternet rumors.

This just in, LeBron James likes to open up old wounds. James, who infamously left his home-state Cleveland Cavaliers by way of the Decision, stated after yesterday's practice that he won’t rule out going back to Cleveland to play one day. James also says, if he did go back, he would hope that "the fans would accept me."

James is like that ex who cheated on you, emptied your bank account and ran over your cat as he drove off in your car, but still leaves you voice messages professing his love. Look on the bright side Cleveland, he does admit that the he’s made mistakes, but he wants you to know that he and his talents are enjoying their time in South Beach.

Here’s a question: why doesn’t anyone want to claim either Mark Sanchez or Kim Kardashian? First there was Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover girl Kate Upton on Ellen avoiding the host's multiple attempts on confirmation of the Upton/Sanchez union. Then there was a TMZ camera catching up with Reggie Bush to ask him about a possible Kim Kardashian reunion. Reggie quickly shook his head no and disappeared into an elevator.

We at BR5 hope that those two crazy kids find love with each other and then Sanchez goes on to play in the Super Bowl against Tim Tebow while Jeremy Lin has a Harvard flag football flashback and joins the Broncos as a flanker. That would definitely crash the Internet.

Lin can’t lose. Seven straight wins, the cover of Time magazine, presidential approval and a last-minute add to the All-Star weekend festivities. Not a bad week. And he’s even sleeping on a real bed now. But, nothing screams you've made it like being linked to a Kardashian.

That's right, setting the Lin-ternet on fire, Media Takeout is reporting that Kim Kardashian has her sights set on Jeremy Lin. Kardashian is reportedly going through her pal LaLa Anthony to try and set her and Lin up for a double date. While no other sources have officially confirmed this troubling piece of news, we can only believe Obama has Seal Team 6 on the ready.

When opposing teams come to Alabama's free-throw line, it’s common for them to be greeted by cardboard cutouts of giant celebrity heads. But one Tide fan has put a personal spin on the trend, perhaps channeling Mr. Bean, with a huge cardboard cutout of his own hilariously contorted face.

There’s no telling if Jack Blankenship’s antics are helping the team—of two recent games he attended, ‘Bama won the first and lost the other—but one thing’s for sure: it’s not helping his love life. According to his Twitter feed, he says all the attention has led to “about 20 new Facebook friends, 250 new followers, and 0 girls wanting to date me.” C’mon ladies, what’s it take to get a guy a break?

T.O. may become the second biggest loudmouth in the Indoor Football League. The Chicago Slaughter are reportedly going after Randy Moss. The 35-year-old trash-talking receiver says he's ready to return to football after retiring last summer. While Moss' agent says NFL teams have already shown interest, the Slaughter team owner told ESPN Chicago that, "Moss would be a perfect fit," and, "it would be a coup for us to get Randy."

Considering the average player salary is only $250 per game, I'd say that'd be less of a coup and more of a miracle to sign the future Hall of Famer. But, the IFL could be the perfect place for Moss—a 50-yard field means only half the effort.
