Manny Pacquiao: Star Power Will Be off the Charts When Pac-Man Meets Jeremy Lin

What’s the easiest way to get the majority of the world screaming like a little girl?

How about a Manny Pacquiao and Jeremy Lin one-on-one game?

Pacman is all set to promote his latest match against Timothy Bradley this coming June and will be in New York City for a press conference at Chelsea Piers on Wednesday according to the New York Daily News.

Guess who he wants to meet?

Lin is the hottest athlete on the planet at the moment and even arguably the greatest boxer of this generation would be honored to meet him. As it turns out, Pacquiao is actually a big basketball fan. According to the Daily News, he owns a team in the Philippines named the MP-Gensan Warriors, and Pacman is the point guard…who also wears No. 17.

In 2008 when Pacquiao was in Chicago, he was dying to see the infamous Michael Jordan statue that sits outside the Chicago Bulls arena. Top Rank Boxing spokesman Lee Samuels, talked about the moment Pacman saw the statue:

He just stared at it for the longest time. He really loves basketball. Wherever he is, he’s always trying to get a pickup game.

"

So could Pacquiao, with his lighting fast feet and killer instinct, beat Lin?

Samuels says that nobody knows for sure, considering the approach most defenders take with Manny:

The only thing is when he is driving to the basket down the lane, the sea parts.

"

Makes sense. Lin wouldn’t want to anger a guy that has beaten some of the toughest dudes on the planet.

The duo does have a lot in common. Both are international sensations that have emerged after working so hard behind the likes of more famous athletes in front of them. Both are ego-free and care about helping out the community by using their fame. Both have inspired thousands and, in Pacman’s case, possibly millions of people.

The meeting of the two will be quite the spectacle, and it’s another way for Pacquiao to piss off Floyd Mayweather.
