WWE Elimination Chamber 2012: 5 Wrestlers Who Could Replace the Great Khali

Daniel MasseyJun 4, 2018

The Great Khali is one of the worst wrestlers in history.

His big size and huge jaw give the guy a great ring presence, but his actual wrestling skills leave a lot to be desired.

The Great Khali is not capable of putting on a good match, as has been proven from years of trying.

However, since his return at the 2012 Royal Rumble, The Great Khali has been shoved straight into an Elimination Chamber match, and I, for one, don’t understand the reasoning behind it.

I know a lot of wrestlers are out at the moment because of injury, but there are plenty of others who could have easily taken the Punjabi Playboy’s place.

Putting on a successful Elimination Chamber match requires some degree of wrestling skill, so I think Khali will struggle to keep up with the other competitors.

Here are five wrestlers I believe could have taken his place.

Christian

Isn’t it about time Captain Charisma made a return?

Many thought he would come back at the Royal Rumble, but he didn’t, so why can’t he just insert himself in the Elimination Chamber match, much like Edge did a few years ago?

To see him back would be a brilliant piece of television and create some great moments with Daniel Bryan, Mark Henry and Santino Marella.

I say Santino because he is a fantastic wrestler, as is Christian.

Some chain-wrestling would entertain the audience and wet their appetites for the impeding destruction.

Drew McIntyre

2 of 5

Drew McIntyre has been on a horrendous losing streak going into 2012, but being entered into the chamber would make sense in terms of the storyline if he begged Teddy to let him in.

WWE could even serve a swerve and give him the title!

At last year’s event, Drew McIntyre really impressed me, so I don’t see any reason why he wouldn’t do again if he was entered this year.

He’s certainly better than Khali, regardless of results.

Jinder Mahal

3 of 5

This would make for an interesting chamber match, as Jinder Mahal is a star on the rise in the WWE.

Jinder is not too bad in the ring, and I believe his aggressive nature fits the description of the match. He would be able to unleash on top superstars.

This would not only gain him some much-needed experience of performing on the big stage, but it would also serve to make him look strong despite his unavoidable elimination from the match.

I think the man has a lot of potential, and this match could have shown us more of what he is capable of.

Justin Gabriel

4 of 5

Justin Gabriel is probably the least likely superstar out of this list that could potentially flourish in this match.

Nevertheless, I think he would be a better choice than Khali, as he has some cool skills and he also has some beef with Cody Rhodes.

This could be used to boost Gabriel into a position where he is competing for the coveted Intercontinental Championship.

He also has the fearless attitude that would allow the creativity to flow and see him do a few high spots from the chain-link wall, a la John Morrison.

Ted DiBiase

5 of 5

Ted DiBiase is another mid-carder who would benefit greatly from a chance to compete in the SmackDown main event at Elimination Chamber.

This would certainly make for an interesting chamber match if he came out to face Cody, as I believe the two former tag team champions work extremely well together when wrestling each other.

DiBiase needs to show that he has something that sets him apart from the rest of the roster, like Cody did, and there’s no better place to do it than in the Elimination Chamber.
