WWE Elimination Chamber 2012: Why Daniel Bryan Will Disappoint
Eric BallJun 7, 2018
Daniel Bryan is going to be the favorite to win this Sunday, but don’t expect him to pull it off.
The SmackDown Elimination Chamber match is probably the worst match of the night because of the roster involved…and let’s face it, Raw blows SmackDown out of the water.
Santino Marella was just given the nod this week after Randy Orton was ruled out, and should be the first guy to get bounced. He may even set a new elimination record for shortest appearance. A “pod-toss” is in his future.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Great Khali and Wade Barrett have nothing going in their direction right now and the Big Show will do what he is known for, starting strong before quickly flaming out. Cody Rhodes has an outside chance, but it seems like there are bigger storylines on the horizon, potentially against his brother Goldust.
That leaves Bryan, who has been acting extra bad lately in his odd heel turn, to clean up the scraps. He has been on an impressive run of late and is the strong favorite heading into the match.
Yet in the wake of the shocking victory for Sheamus at Royal Rumble, it looks like the year of the underdog is currently underway.
So why not have one of the lesser-known guys have a shot? Bryan is a pretty generic character in every aspect and certainly doesn’t have an incredibly strong fanbase. When this is the case, the creative team likes to shake things up.
I think Rhodes is going to be the winner. It will raise his stock among fans and add further intrigue to his storyline as WrestleMania approaches.
That’s what you have to remember in all of this. The Elimination Chamber is nothing more than a glorified stepping stone and in what’s turning into the year of the underdog; expect the favorite Daniel Bryan to disappoint.
