Davonte Neal Hints at Arizona Signing by Announcing from His Arizona School

The last remaining elite recruit on the trail has decided what school to go to, but he won't announce that decision until February 21st.

Davonte Neal, a 5'10", 175-pound athlete from Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, has narrowed his choices down to four schools: Notre Dame, Arkansas, Arizona and North Carolina.

Ohio State was in the mix but fell out a couple of weeks ago, according to Rivals' Irish Illustrated.

The Rivals report also indicates that Neal will announce his decision and fax in his letter of intent from his elementary school where he first got his start as a student-athlete. His father, Luke Neal, was quoted as saying:

I think it's a great thing for Davonte to want do it there, to say he got his start there from the teachers and the principal, how he wouldn't be where he is now without them. It's a great way to look at it, to give back to the community for helping him become the man he has become.

"

Another way to give back is by staying put.

Following the path both Dorial Green-Beckham and Stefon Diggs already went during this recruiting process, it appears that Neal is on the verge of staying in state as well.

Arkansas and Notre Dame would give the ESPNU 5-star recruit the best chance to win, but Arizona is his home and he's proving that means more to him than winning right now.

With Rich Rodriguez now in control of the Wildcats program, Neal will have an opportunity to immediately make plays in his offense. Every time the speedster touches the ball, he is a threat to score, and elite playmakers of that caliber have shined in the coach's offense.

When February 21st rolls around, don't be surprised when Neal announces his decision to play for U of A.
