Klitschko vs. Chisora: Underrated Dereck Chisora Will Pull off Shocking Upset

Adam WellsJun 7, 2018

The heavyweight boxing scene is about to get a serious wake-up call on Saturday night when Dereck Chisora knocks out Vitali Klitschko to win the WBC world heavyweight championship.

When Klitschko gave Chisora the fight, the backlash was loud. That is not to say that Chisora doesn't have talent, but with only 17 professional bouts and coming off a loss (albeit a controversial one), is not the stuff that title contenders are made of.

Dig deeper into Chisora's career and you will see that he has what it takes to defeat the heavily favored Klitschko. He is an aggressive, attacking boxer with terrific power and nine knockouts in his 15 victories.

Even former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis, who holds a victory over Klitschko back in 2003, has gone on record as saying that Chisora should be getting more respect.

"

"Vitali is very good, but Chisora has a chance. He is a heavyweight. All it takes is one punch on the chin to win. I always say if you walk into the ring, you have to get wet. If he [Klitschko] is in the fight, in the ring, and he gets punched, there is a chance that he might get hurt or knocked out. It will be an interesting fight."

The great equalizer in the heavyweight division is that everyone packs a lot of power in their punches. In this sport, all you have to do is stun your opponent with one shot before finishing the fight.

Chisora would be a great ambassador for the division. No one can tell you anything about the heavyweights in boxing right now. Someone has to do something to get people to take notice.

The Klistchko brothers are dominant because they take fights they know they will win. In an ideal world, Chisora would have to wait a few years before being considered for a title fight.

Since he has been given his moment in the sun, there is no reason to think he won't take advantage of it. His knockout power and aggressive nature give him a great chance to win.

Klistchko wanted this fight because he thought it would be a cakewalk. He will have different feelings when he is looking up at the lights in Munich this weekend.
