Jeremy Lin Is Moving On Up, Mark Sanchez Hearts Santonio Holmes: BR5 2/16
Welcome to BR5—your source for sports and pop culture news.
Today’s episode of BR5 gets you up-to-date on everything from Mark Sanchez’s surprising valentine to Lin's big move.
It was another Lin-tense 24 hours for the New York Knicks' Jeremy Lin.
Crashing on a couch a week ago, the point guard is moving into the luxury high rise Trump Tower in White Plains NY, and subletting from former Knick David Lee. He also helped the Knicks win another game and hasn’t lost yet as a starter.
It seems all the Linsanity has caught the attention of another important subletter, the one in the White House.
Press secretary Jay Carney says President Obama is "very impressed" with the Asian sensation's performance. If things don't pan out for Lin in the NBA, I'm sure Obama can make a spot for him as "Lin-ister of Defense."
Is Kobe Bryant back with his ex? He was seen at the Lakers game in a lip lock with his soon to be ex-wife Vanessa, fueling speculation that the two are working on a reconciliation.
Either that, or she just needed to hit up Kobe for another $75 million. Since they only filed for divorce in December and it doesn't become final until June, so there's plenty of time to withdraw the papers.
A war of words is brewing between two of the best receivers ever. Randy Moss still says he’s coming out of retirement and is apparently bringing a whole mess of controversy with him.
Former mentor and teammate Cris Carter told Mike and Mike in the Morning that the biggest issue with Moss is...he’s a quitter. Moss shot back via twitter that karma has been biting Carter in the ass and good luck getting in the HOF.
The Mark Sanchez vs. Santonio Holmes feud may be coming to a bromantic end.
Sanchez tweeted out a loving message to the hotheaded receiver, asking him to be his valentine. However, Holmes may be taking a page out of his 2011 playbook by continuing to give his QB the cold shoulder.
The "couple" finished the season on rocky terms when Holmes was benched for his apparent disinterest in the game and disrespect towards Sanchez both on and off the field. It’s possible Holmes is just holding out for a more popular kid in class.
No reaction yet from Sanchez’s rumored girlfriend and S-I cover model, Kate Upton, regarding his choice in valentines.
Lin-sanity is infectious and it's spreading. While most might argue Mike Tyson already had healthy levels of regular insanity, watching Lin and the Knicks has sent it into overdrive.
MSG network courtside reporter Jill Martin caught up with Mike after the game, where we see a jovial Tyson. Good to see he's got a good sense of humor about his cannibalistic past.
