LeBron James, Dwyane Wade: Could Either Win a Title This Year Sans the Other?

LeBron BryantJun 7, 2018

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade form the best duo in the NBA.

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook fans, I hear you...but really?

The way James and Wade have played together in such a limited time is remarkable and shows the on-court intelligence of both players.

I even detailed their chemistry on and off the court in a previous article, "http://bleacherreport.com/articles/692495-my-brothers-keeper-lebron-james-and-dwyane-wade-set-the-bar-for-nba-duos.

James and Wade are playing well off one another but also with their teammates, which beckons this question: Could one still win a title this year without the other?

Most would say no, but I believe they would still have a great chance.

From LBJ's standpoint, look no further than the 5-1 stretch this season without Wade where James put together gaudy numbers and led the Miami Heat to great victories. It was during this stretch that James' MVP chatter began.

Wade hasn't had to play without LeBron, but we have seen what D-Wade can do with half a team, much less an All-Star in Chris Bosh.

It was Dwyane Wade who led the Miami Heat to a title in 2006 with an older Shaquille O'Neal and a handful of veterans.

The flexibility is what makes the Heat so great.

The Chicago Bulls', Oklahoma City Thunder's, Dallas Mavericks', etc., successes are all dependent upon their superstar players.

The Thunder are nothing without Kevin Durant. The Bulls won't make it far without Derrick Rose.

The Heat have LeBron James. Oh, he's out? Let's get the ball to our second option, Dwyane Wade. D-Wade is not feeling it tonight? How about we throw it in to Chris Bosh?

What a luxury to have.

I wouldn't want to see Wade or LeBron without the other, but if it indeed happens, the Miami Heat still have more than enough for a title.
