WWE Elimination Chamber 2012 Predictions: John Cena's Dominant Run Will Begin

Tim DanielsFeb 15, 2012

Are you ready for the return of Super Cena? If not, prepare yourself, because John Cena is about to starting dominating his competition with ease as the build-up to his WrestleMania match with The Rock begins in earnest at Elimination Chamber on Sunday.

Cena has been feuding with Kane for awhile now as the Big Red Monster attempts to get him to embrace the hate. It's all been targeted at giving Cena an edgier side since the company doesn't want to risk a full-blown heel turn with its biggest star.

While it was a good plan it theory, the execution has been poor. The fan reaction hasn't changed at all since before the storyline began. The adult portion of the audience still boos him, and the little kids continue to cheer wildly.

That leaves Vince McMahon no choice but to turn Cena back into the unbeatable superhero character he was when the WrestleMania idea got off the ground last year.

He would go months at a time without losing a match clean. It was an act that quickly wore thin with the Internet wrestling community and those fans of the Attitude Era, which is The Rock's biggest group of supporters.

Cena doesn't need to be a heel or pretend to have a more “scary” side for the match to succeed. He just needs to be the Cena that he was when the agreement was made last April for the two guys to face off in Miami when it generated a bunch of interest.

It all starts with him putting an end to his angle with Kane to an end on Sunday.

In doing so, he will prove he's always going to rise above adversity and doesn't need to change to make it happen. From there, he will go on a rampage for a couple weeks until The Rock makes his triumphant return next month.

It wouldn't even be a surprise to see the WWE start tracking some type of winning streak. Since Rocky probably won't do much wrestling during the actual build up, it would make sense if Cena wins seven or eight matches in a row before the big day to make it seem like he's unstoppable.

Is it a script we've seen before? Of course, but it's still a lot better than the disaster his ready-to-erupt character has become over the past few weeks.

That's why it's time for the return of vintage Cena at Elimination Chamber.
