College Football Recruiting: 2013 Western Prospects to Watch
Now that the 2012 recruiting classes have finally come to a close (except for Davonte' Neal) there truly is no rest for the wicked as colleges now focus on the 2013 recruiting class.
Offers are being made, junior days are being attended and recruiting is in full swing once again.
The west last year was highlighted by the likes of Shaq Thompson, Arik Armstead, Kyle Murphy, Josh Garnett, and Zach Banner. So who are the next big names and 5-stars?
Quarterbacks
1 of 12Cooper Bateman- Offers: Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, and Ole Miss among several others.
Max Browne- Easily the top quarterback in the west this class, Browne will be heavily in the talk of who should be crowned the number one quarterback in the nation.
As a junior he threw for over 4,000 yards, 45 touchdowns, over 70 percent completion rating, only throwing seven interceptions and earning Gatorade underclassmen player of the year honors for the state of Washington.
He has drawn offers from Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, Cal, Clemson, Colorado, Oklahoma, Oregon State, USC, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.
Hayden Rettig- Offers: Auburn, Boston College and UCLA among many others.
Troy Williams- Was 200-for-317 for 2,597 yards and 23 touchdowns to nine interceptions as a 2010 sophomore. Has offers from Arizona State, UCLA, and Washington among others.
Running Backs
2 of 12Deon Martin- Rushed for 1,900 yards and 23 touchdowns as a sophomore. Offers: UCLA
Thomas Tyner- This speedster from Aloha, Oregon has already given his pledge to the Ducks. He ran for 19 touchdowns, and 1821 yards on only 197 carries which is 9.24ypc!
Justin Davis- Ran for an incredible 2,613 yards and 39 touchdowns his junior season. Sports offers from Michigan, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and USC among others.
Craig Lee- Sports offers from Colorado, San Diego St., UCLA, and Washington
Jalen Ortiz- Ran for 751 yards and 11 touchdowns as a sophomore and has offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Purdue, and Washington.
Wide Receivers
