2012 NFL Draft: Reviewing the Pro Day Schedules, Pre-Scouting Combine Edition
Pro Days are an extremely important facet of the pre-NFL draft process.
They're vital because they allow scouts, coaches and general managers to solely pay attention to a few individuals instead of a variety of prospects, like they're forced to do at the Scouting Combine.
Now that the NFL has released the official Pro Day schedule, it's time to dissect each of them that will run from March 1 to April 6.
Quite the busy time for every team's scouting department and media members alike.
Let's start with the most important Pro Day dates and the players you must watch:
March 1
Missouri Pro Day
No, there aren't any top-tier NFL prospects coming out of Missouri this year, like Blaine Gabbert, Jeremy Maclin or Aldon Smith, but the Tigers will officially kick of the annual Pro Day tour.
Take the time to watch tight end Michael Egnew. He has a future in the NFL.
March 6
Arkansas Pro Day
The mighty trio of Razorback wideouts will demonstrate their speed and agility for scouts on this day: the electrifying Joe Adams, Greg Childs and the underrated Jarius Wright. Don't forget about defensive end Jake Bequettte, either.
March 7 (Circle this date)
Alabama Pro Day
Trent Richardson headlines the Crimson Tide's Pro Day, and a slew of top-tier defenders will take the field in Tuscaloosa as well.
Courtney Upshaw, Dont'a Hightower, Dre Kirkpatrick and Mark Barron could all be first-round picks. Must-see TV for all you draft nuts or if your team needs a running back or defensive help.
Southern California Pro Day
Pass-rushing specialist Nick Perry and offensive tackle Matt Kalil will be the main attractions in So Cal for the Trojans' workout. Running back Mark Tyler has a chance to be a draft sleeper. Keep an eye on him, too.
Texas A&M Pro Day
Everyone's looking for the No. 3 quarterback behind Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III. That just might be Aggies signal-caller Ryan Tannehill. His main target, Jeff Fuller, and speedy running back Cyrus Gray will also participate.
Oklahoma State Pro Day
The chiseled Justin Blackmon should stand out in the Cowboys' Pro Day. Safety Markelle Martin is a solid prospect, but it's likely he won't be picked until the mid-rounds. How will the 29-year-old quarterback Brandon Weeden perform?
Wisconsin Pro Day
On what is clearly a busy day, the Badgers' top guys will showcase their abilities. All eyes will be on quarterback Russell Wilson. Many scouts will be closely critiquing offensive line prospects Peter Konz and Kevin Zeitler, as well as possession wideout Nick Toon.
March 8 (Circle this date)
Miami Pro Day
Although the Hurricanes underwhelmed in 2011, they have a fair share of quality NFL prospects as usual. Running back Lamar Miller could be worthy of first-round selection, and wideouts Travis Benjamin and Tommy Streeter are interesting mid-round prospects.
Can't forget about defensive tackle Marcus Fortson, linebacker Sean Spence and offensive tackle Brandon Washington.
Clemson Pro Day
The Tigers have some underrated prospects who could become highly sought-after guys in late April.
Defensive end Andre Branch has a great burst off the edge. Tight end Dwayne Allen is a gifted runner and displayed great hands during his collegiate career. Brandon Thompson was a disruptive interior defensive lineman in Death Valley and may garner some first-round attention.
Nebraska Pro Day
The Cornhuskers have four legitimate NFL prospects that could be chosen in the first two rounds. Defensive lineman Jared Crick is coming off an injury, but is one of the more reliable interior linemen in the draft. Cornerback Alfonzo Dennard could follow Prince Amukamara's footsteps, and LaVonte David is one of the best 4-3 linebackers in the 2012 class.
Washington Pro Day
Alameda Ta'Amu is a 6'3'', 340-pound mammoth many teams would love to stick at defensive tackle next season. Chris Polk, with a strong showing, has a chance to be the second running back taken after an illustrious year with the Huskies.
The unheralded receiver, Jermaine Kearse, was productive in Seattle and could surprise some scouts with the way he runs at 6'2'' and 210 pounds.
March 9
Ohio State Pro Day
Offensive tackle Mike Adams is the headliner, but center Mike Brewster will draw some attention. After being suspended for 10 games in 2011, scouts want to see what 6'2'', 210-pound wideout Devier Posey can do athletically.
Running back Dan "Boom" Herron has a chance to be a third-down back at the next level.
March 13
Florida Pro Day
For once, the Gators don't have a star-studded Pro Day. Feels kind of odd. Running backs Jeff Demps and Chris Rainey will look to blow scouts away with their world-class straight-line speed.
March 14
Florida State Pro Day
Offensive tackle Zebrie Sanders is raw, but he shouldn't make it out of the second round.
Michigan State Pro Day
The Spartans aren't sending elite prospects to the league this year, but there'll be a ton of scouts watching quarterback Kirk Cousins, wideouts B.J. Cunningham and Keshawn Martin. Defensive tackle Jerel Worthy has immense potential, but he often takes plays off.
Oklahoma Pro Day
The Sooners will send a handful of top prospects to the practice field on March 14. Defensive end Frank Alexander has upside, but will likely fall into Round 2 or 3. Ronnell and Travis Lewis are great linebacker prospects that should garner second or third-round attention, and cornerback Jamell Fleming is one of the better press cover men in the country.
Penn State Pro Day
Monstrous defensive tackle Devon Still takes center stage in State College. He moves well despite his 6'5'' and 310-pound frame.
March 19
Arizona Pro Day
The quarterback-receiver combo of Nick Foles and Juron Criner will go through their workouts on this day. Foles has all the skills to be a reliable NFL quarterback, and Criner is a big-bodied wideout at 6'4'' and 215 pounds.
LSU Pro Day
Surprise entrant Michael Brockers should demonstrate his crazy athlete ability, and wide receiver Reuben Randle will have a shot to prove his worth as a second-rounder.
Cornerback Morris Claiborne can cement his status as one of the safest picks in this year's class with a strong showing in the speed and agility drills.
March 20
North Carolina Pro Day
The Tar Heels have sent a ton of guys to the NFL in recent years, and this year should be no different. Defensive end Quinton Coples will look to erase any doubts about his motivation and drive and will strive to impress scouts with his otherworldly athleticism.
Zach Brown will likely be the first non-pass-rushing outside linebacker taken and could run a sub-4.4 40-yard dash.
Huge 6'4'' receiver Dwight Jones will demonstrate his talents, too.
Texas Pro Day
The Longhorns don't boast any top prospects this year, but Emmanuel Acho and Keenan Robinson are solid linebackers with great football IQs.
March 22 (Circle this date)
Baylor Pro Day
Baylor's and Stanford's Pro Days are both on March 22. Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III gracing their respective practice fields at the same time. Awesome.
We will be all over both workouts here at Bleacher Report.
Don't get caught up in the RG3 hoopla so much that you miss blazing wide receiver Kendall Wright. He's a first-round lock. Can Terrance Ganaway parlay an astonishing bowl game performance into a mid-round draft pick?
Stanford Pro Day
Andrew Luck will likely work through his throwing drills with ease, just like RG3 should, but the Cardinal have plenty of big-time draft prospects.
David DeCastro and Johnathan Martin are legitimate top-15 picks and, not surprisingly, are extremely smart and technically sound.
Coby Fleener could be the first tight end taken.
Boise State Pro Day
Kellen Moore. This year's smaller version of Tim Tebow will throw in front of scouts. His stock likely won't change, sadly. Offensive lineman Nate Potter has a legitimate NFL future and Doug Martin could sneak into the late stages of the first round. He was magnificent during Senior Bowl week in Mobile.
March 24
Arizona State Pro Day
The 6'8'' quarterback prospect, Brock Osweiler will draw crowds on this day. As you can imagine, he has a massive arm and is oozing with upside. Vontaze Burfict is the most NFL-ready inside linebacker and should fluidly fly through his workout. He's a special athlete.
I love Gerrell Robinson as a possession receiver with big-play capabilities when he reaches the NFL.
March 28
South Carolina Pro Day
Melvin Ingram could be the first defensive lineman picked and can play a variety of positions. At 6'2'' and nearly 280 pounds, he runs like a tight end and has great lateral agility. He'll be able to show off his God-given talent on this day.
Stephon Gilmore is a rangy, ball-hawking cornerback who could be taken in the final picks of Round 1. His 40-yard dash time will play a huge factor in where he's ultimately picked.
Alshon Jeffery has apparently battled weight problems, but he'll be given a chance to prove to the NFL that he can run well as a 6'4'', 225-pound beastly wideout.
Now that you've been filled in on the teams that have multiple top-level guys in college football, here's a quick list of more underrated players and Pro Days you must keep an eye on.

March 8
Fletcher Cox, DT (RB, Vick Ballard, too), Mississippi State
