TNA Impact Preview: A 10 Knockout Battle Royal, a Super Bowl Champ and More

Kyle SchadlerJun 7, 2018

We are four days removed from TNA Against All Odds and tonight is a new episode of Impact Wrestling.

The company has confirmed one match for the event as well as what are sure to be two in-ring segments.

With the events of this past Sunday’s pay-per-view though, there is plenty more to consider.

Super Bowl Champion Brandon Jacobs Stops By the Impact Zone

TNA Wrestling has announced that Super Bowl champion Brandon Jacobs will be appearing on the show.

The running back from the New York Giants will be stopping by the Impact Zone in Orlando, but why is the football star showing up to a wrestling show?

Is he there to brag about his Super Bowl win? Does he want to confront a fellow champion? Only time will tell I suppose.

Will Robbie E Continue to Defend His Television Championship?

This past Sunday at Against All Odds, TNA television champion Robbie E issued an open challenge for his title. The challenge was accepted by former Ink Inc. member Shannon Moore.

Moore put up a good fight, but the wrestler from the Jersey shore managed to retain his title.

Robbie has had the title since November, and this was the first time he has defended the belt since the December PPV Final Resolution.

Was Robbie E’s title defense a sign of things to come? Will the champion be defending his title more often?

Gunner Defeated Garret Bischoff: What Happens Now?

Garret Bischoff has been feuding with his father since October. Eric Bischoff has just been all talk though as he has had Gunner doing all of his dirty work for him.

After Garret defeated him on three occasions, Gunner finally followed through with Eric’s orders and took out his son.

After the third match, Gunner delivered a piledriver to Garret onto the concrete.

Much to the dismay of his father, Garret returned and was in training. During TNA’s first television broadcast in England, Garret revealed his trainer as the Immortal Hulk Hogan.

The following week Sting gave Hogan the power to book the match at the PPV, which Garret ultimately lost.

Hulk Hogan’s training had failed—Eric Bischoff has beaten his former partner.

What’s next for Hulk Hogan and Garret Bischoff?

What’s Next for A.J. Styles, Kazarian and Christopher Daniels?

A.J. Styles and Christopher Daniels have been feuding just as long as they’ve been friends and it seems like their rivalry will never end.

After the feud seemed to end again in November, Styles was pulled back into the fight.

Styles and Kazarian were entered into the Wild Card Tag Team Tournament where the winner received a shot at the Tag Team Championship.

The team made it to the finals against Samoa Joe and Magnus, but Daniels had other plans.

Before the match, Kaz was seen talking to the Fallen Angel. During the match, Kaz walked out on Styles after he was ordered to by Daniels.

Styles isn’t feuding with Kazarian, he’s once again going up against Daniels.

Daniels holds something over Kaz’s head, leading to his actions against Styles. A.J. knows this, so his war is with Daniels.

At Against All Odds, Styles decided to pay more attention to Daniels than Kaz and that led to Kazarian defeating his once good friend.

Daniels has all the momentum in his corner right now.

Will A.J. Styles get a rematch against Kazarian, or will all this lead to one more big match between Styles and Christopher Daniels?

When Will Zema Ion Receive His Shot at the X-Division Championship?

Against All Odds saw the X-Division get showcased twice.

The first match saw Zema Ion take on Jesse Sorenson where the winner became the No. 1 contender for the X-Division Championship.

Ion picked up the win after the match was stopped due to Ion’s knee-crushing of Sorenson’s face.

Sorenson was just released from the hospital, so let’s hope everything turns out alright in the long run.

Austin Aries then defended his title against Alex Shelley in a great match. However, the “Greatest Man Who Ever Lived” was able to best the Motor City Machine Gun and retain the title.

Austin Aries vs. Zema Ion is on the horizon, but when will it happen?

Will Ion receive his title shot on an episode of Impact Wrestling or at TNA’s next PPV, Victory Road?

No matter when he gets it, let’s just hope he doesn’t almost kill Aries as well!

Who Will Step Up to Challenge New Tag Team Champions Samoa Joe and Magnus?

The Wild Card Tag Team Tournament managed to produce one great team: The winners of the whole thing.

Samoa Joe and Magnus proved to have great chemistry and that they were already better than the champions Matt Morgan and Crimson.

After failing to win the titles at Genesis, Joe and Magnus kept on attacking the champs. They received another shot at the belts, all while staying one step ahead of the champions.

At Against All Odds, Samoa Joe and Magnus bested Morgan and Crimson to become the new TNA Tag Team champions!

That begs the question: Who will challenge the new champions?

Will Matt Morgan and Crimson receive a rematch, or will another team step up to the plate?

10 Knockout Battle Royal: Winner Gets a Shot at the Knockout Championship

At Against All Odds, Gail Kim defended her title against Tara. Tara put up quite the fight, but a potential injury to her knee led to her downfall.

Gail Kim is still the TNA Knockout champion and is in need of a new challenger.

TNA Wrestling will remedy that with a 10 Knockout Battle Royal where the winner faces Gail at Victory Road.

The match will feature former champions Winter, Tara, ODB, Mickie James, Velvet Sky, Madison Rayne and Angelina Love as well as Sarita, Rosita and Brooke Tessmacher.

Who will be the last Knockout standing?

Sting Reacts to Bobby Roode’s Victory

Bobby Roode had a real test at Against All Odds: He had to defend his TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Jeff Hardy, James Storm and Bully Ray.

Roode continued to prove his dominance when he retained his title but he had some inadvertent help to do so.

As Roode was about to use the title belt as a weapon, Sting took it away from him. Roode then proceeded to anger Sting to the point where the Insane Icon took a swing at the leader of the selfish generation.

Instead of hitting Roode, though, Sting decked Hardy with the belt. The champion took advantage of that and pinned Hardy for the win.

Tonight on Impact Wrestling, Sting reacts to the way Roode picked up the win.

Will Sting apologize to Jeff Hardy? If so, how will he make it up to the Charismatic Enigma?

If not, was Sting working with Bobby Roode all along?

TNA Wrestling has been putting on solid television so far this year and there’s no sign of them stopping now!

Can they keep up this string of solid shows? Tune in to find out!
