Knicks Trade Rumors: New York Doesn't Need to Make Moves Thanks to Jeremy Lin
Remember when the New York Knicks were rumored to have interest in Houston Rockets point guard Jonny Flynn?
Jeremy Lin ended that talk.
Or how about when the team was thought to be intrigued by Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Ramon Sessions?
Not anymore—the Knicks are "Linning" now.
What about all of the talk that Amar'e Stoudemire was on the block?
It's gone—dead, baby—because everyone wants to see him run the pick-and-roll with Lin.
So wait...has Jeremy Lin, at least momentarily, killed all of the juicy trade rumors surrounding the Knicks?
He sure has.
Sure, the team has been rumored to be in hot pursuit of free agent-to-be J.R. Smith, who can return to the NBA from China on Wednesday, but that wouldn't shake up the roster in any way and would simply be a nice addition to the team.
Lin has bought the Knicks time. By resurrecting their season—and becoming a folk hero along the way—Lin has prevented the Knicks from having to consider blowing up their roster or overpaying in a trade to reach the playoffs.
Now, the most important thing is making sure he, Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony can sustain this recent success when the two superstars return to the team.
So for those of you scouring the web, hoping to find some great Knicks speculation or rumor of the trade variety, save yourself the trouble.
Jeremy Lin has made New York trade rumors irrelevant, at least for the time being.
Hit me up on Twitter—I'm #Linning.
