Northern Trust Open: 5 Players to Watch
After his dominating win at Pebble Beach, Phil Mickelson and the rest of the PGA Tour are heading to Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles for this week's Northern Trust Open.
The field boasts four of the world's top-10 players, including the world's No. 1 Luke Donald.
Also in the field are former winners of the tournament Aaron Baddeley, Ernie Els and Champion's Tour standout Fred Couples.
With this tournament set to provide an exciting weekend of golf, here are five players who could take home the win.
Aaron Baddeley
1 of 5Coming off a strong fourth-place finish at Pebble Beach, Aaron Baddeley has a prime opportunity this weekend at Riviera.
He will be defending his 2011 Northern Trust Open title as he looks for his first win in 2012.
Spencer Levin
2 of 5Two weeks after his meltdown at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, Spencer Levin is ready to win.
With two top-10 finishes in a row, Levin is consistently putting himself in contention. The odds are in his favor if he can keep putting himself in contention. Maybe this is his lucky week.
Dustin Johnson
3 of 5I may keep predicting Dustin Johnson to win until he actually does.
After an explosive round of 62 on Thursday at Pebble Beach, Johnson's next three rounds teetered around par and he finished in a tie for fifth.
Johnson will have more success on the greens at Riviera. We'll see him in contention come Sunday afternoon.
Luke Donald
4 of 5What a safe pick, I know.
This is a warm-up for Donald as he gets ready to defend his Accenture Match-Play Championship title.
I expect Donald to be on his A-game as he prepares for the following week, and that could mean him winning in Los Angeles.
Phil Mickelson
5 of 5Phil is on a roll.
With his dominating performance at Pebble Beach, Mickelson heads to Riviera, where he won in 2008 and 2009.
He is my No. 1 pick for the weekend.
