Peyton Manning Rumors: Jets Would Be Foolish Not to Pursue Legendary QB
The New York Jets are one of several possibilities for Peyton Manning this offseason if the Indianapolis Colts decide to let him go.
And it shocks me that we haven't heard more from the Jets organization regarding Manning.
As ESPN notes, there are seven realistic destinations for Manning this offseason: the Jets, Miami, Washington, Seattle, Cleveland, Arizona and San Francisco.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Of these teams, I think the Jets and 49ers would have the best chances to make it to the Super Bowl with Manning at the helm, given their defenses.
However, there is no way the 49ers are going to interrupt what they have going with Alex Smith and head coach Jim Harbaugh right now. Smith grew considerably last season and this is an up-and-coming, young team.
In that regard, the Jets actually would have the best chance of winning a championship with Manning as their quarterback. Yet, ironically, there hasn't been much noise about them potentially adding Manning.
This all comes down to head coach Rex Ryan. He's made it clear throughout the years that he'll stand by quarterback Mark Sanchez until the very (bitter) end. He continues to put Sanchez on a pedestal while the Jets come apart at the seams, despite having arguably the best cornerback tandem in the league in Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie. Sure, it's not all Sanchez, but it's still hard for me to envision him leading the Jets to a title.
If the Jets aren't going after Manning at this point, it not only marks a failure in Ryan as the head coach, it marks a failure in the organization for not stepping in and making the right decision.
Revis and Cromartie aren't going to get any younger. You take advantage of this talented duo while you can.
If the heavily-favored Dolphins land Manning, they will be headed for better waters while it will be the Jets who flounder.
